Since I figured it might be something worthwhile, inspired by talcko, I decided to try to find all of the backwards cryptic pieces of text hidden in the images of the various websites we've discovered so far.
I came up with image:
this image.
Granted, only some of the text is legible, but after googling the snippets that were readable, I came up with the following paragraph.
Quote:For your hospitality our sincerest thanks, and for your offer of
professional assistance our grateful acceptance. Terms: cash on
delivery, up to and not exceeding one fourteenth of total profits (if
any); all traveling expenses guaranteed in any event; funeral expenses
to be defrayed by us or our representatives, if occasion arises and the
matter is not otherwise arranged for.
To me, this sounded like standard contract mumbo-jumbo, so I consulted a lawyer-type friend of mine, thinking he could shed some light on the subject. He assured me that it was a verbatim quote from the second chapter of Tolkien's "The Hobbit."
In the story, this is a letter written by a band of 13 Dwarves who spent the night at Bilbo's place. Bilbo didn't notice the letter until it was pointed out to him by Gandalf on the mantle, under the clock.
Some people were thinking I photoshopped some random shit together to come to this conclusion, but I can assure you that it's all taken directly from images found around our little universe.
If you don't believe me, you can
download the photoshop document. (MEGAUPLOAD, ~10MB)
No actual pixels of the original images is distorted, aside from being flipped horizontally. The color and contrast is changed via an adjustment layer, and any removed pixels still have active masks.
