Can't do no wrong with Eletric Six especially in summer time when getting ready for a night out! Have you listened to Dick Valentine's solo record Destroy the Children yet? Not as good as E6 IMHO, but great non the less.

Listened to the new Turbonegro for days with no end and what can I say? I'm beginning to get tired of it already. The record is just too short and is wearing out rather quickly. Still I think it's their best effort since Scandinavian Leather. Too bad I won't make it to the Welt Turbojugend Tage this year. Oh well...

I'd mentioned it a couple of times on ets, but this band just gets to me every once and a while and I tend to stick to a different record of theirs everytime. Right now it's come clean and it really doesn't get any better than "recovery", "something familiar" and "alligators getting up". Doesn't matter if I'm listening to their more poppy songs or the noisy ones I hear perfection all the way through. Too bad they are even more unknown in my neck of the woods than they are in general.

Kinda wish Toni would be the voice for How to Destroy Angels (no disrespect for Mariqueen) seeing that she's married to Alan Moulder. But one can only dream I guess...

I just found out Chumbawamba is calling it quits.... So... It looks like I'll have to be listening to some Chumba for the next few days. I am going to have to find some of their albums on vinyl and get some new copies of their cds, some of mine are lost or scratched. To be honest I didn't really get into the most recent albums after A Singsong and A Scrap - I loved that album.

I have only listened to samples of Dick's solo album, never picked it up but I want to! I have all their albums, and E6 is one of the few bands where every song is good to great (In my humble and lowly opinion).

Fun fact, I was the Minneapolis show last month where they recorded a new live album. They did two sets, first set was all their big hits (big hits?), the second was Fire in its entirety. They did a cover of the Osmond's Crazy Horses.

Osmond's know how to rock, do you? The intro is so sick.

For some reason i never gave Type O Negative much of a chance back in the 1990s. Listening to their reissues October Rust stands out.
Its as good as Alice In Chains at their peak circa Dirt. Really powerful metal band. They have the most epic guitar sound. Pure Snarling, Synthetic, Reverberated, Crunchy Euphoria!
They are fucking brilliant and im kicking myself they played at about 20 festivals i went to but never saw them.
Petes monotone He-Man warrior yet romatic/tender voice is hilarious at times. Now there was A REAL MAN. mmmmmmm blush

Die With Me and Green Man are serious tunes. Lot of their material reminds me of Dead Souls by NIN. Just that type of dark, intense emotional power!

I'm listening to all the stuff I've gotten from the two latest Indie Bundles offering music. (Well, one was a Humble Music Bundle, the other was the Humble Indie Bundle, with complete soundtracks for all of the games included with the download). I've gotta say, I'm insanely impressed with both of those purchases, and I think I paid about 16 or 17 bucks total. Things like this are what make me have faith in the internet.

Been using the iTunes Dj feature lately even though i hate iTunes, i got to say the random playlists are kinda cool. I've also started making playlists as well which is something i've been to lazy to do in the past. Same with the music on my phone been just playing it on random.

Though i may have to check out that DJ Shadow album above as well, not really big into that style (loosely stated) of music that much but i did really enjoy Endtroducing a fair bit.

Man, truly, she is one of the few artists that can instantly transport me to another place with her songs. They have some sort of...I don't know how to describe it...there is almost something primeval about them!

Been blasting a lot of Waltari lately. Ever heard of them? They're a Finnish rock band that has had a 25-year career and employs an eclectic "rock of all trades" style, covering alternative rock, metal, punk, techno, rap and even symphonic music. Their bassist/singer, Kärtsy Hatakka, has co-composed the soundtrack for the first two Max Payne games. I recommend them to fans of Faith No More and other bands that bend genres for the fuck of it.

I don't hate them but i do think they would have made a better single album than the two. IMO those songs sound best on S&M.

I think "Adorn" by Miguel is one of the best R n B songs I've heard in a long time.

Also, decided to give Black Crowes a listen and immediately loved their music - especially their first 3 albums.

Just heard Godspeed You! Black Emperor's new song "Mladic". The first third is a direct rip-off of Beside You In Time.
