There's apparently a presale at 10am? Anyone know the password?

EDIT: NVM, that's weird. I got two emails between my two email addresses, but only one of them got the presale information and code. Huh.

So fucking stupid. It didn't ask me to login until I was trying to purchase, then it told me my username/password combo wasn't on file, no option to checkout as guest, I tried to sign up with my email, but it told me it was already on file AND THEN JUST SENT ME TO THE ARENA'S HOMEPAGE. I tried again, signed up with a different email address, and all is well. Fuck, though.

Sooo... does anybody here live in Bakersfield and want to let me sleep on their floor for the night? I'll be sitting in line all day so I can hold a spot for you near the front. I could also probably throw you a few bucks, but I don't have much.

I thought I'd ask, otherwise I'll be sleeping in my car for the night. I'm shocked enough that I'm even going to this, but there's no way I can afford a legit hotel room on such short notice. Worth a shot!

I was debating on a food offering of VOODOO Doughnuts but then realized that this show is a) not just a checkmark on a laundry list of tour dates and b) VOODOO Doughnuts has become more accessible given their newer Hollywood tour walk location (as i didn't know this location existed until i looked up store hours-apparently the portlandia bubble has broadened its borders)

I probably should have picked will call. Not sure why I didn't. At least with Will Call I would get a real ticket stub instead of a flimsy old piece of paper.

Better question, do they hand out the limited edition poster before or after the show? Do we have to take that bad boy into the pit to get all crumpled up?

I couldn't get a ticket to this show.. But I will be at Riot Fest and Aftershock with at least iPhone 7 plus if not a GoPro as well. I've been testing the waters on those threads to see if there'll be a community effort to record those shows (since none are streaming - and this will be a *NEW* performance - and possibly the only one of it's kind (depending on how it goes over for these 4(5) shows. Any footage from this show though, could go toward all encompassing mixed multicam. I did that for "All The Love In The World" and it seemed to work pretty well.

What time do folks plan on queuing up? I haven't been in GA a NIN show since seeing them with David Bowie at the Tacoma Dome in 1995, so I'm a little out of the loop in terms of what the line will look like.

I would also suggest bringing along some disposable sun shades or umbrellas just in case the area to line up isn't shaded. Sitting outside in 101 degree (F) temps without any shade sounds terrible.

In my experience, you get maybe 100 people who queue up many many hours before the doors open, a ton of people who get there within an hour or so of doors, and then another solid chunk that come on the later side.

I'm working a full day, so I won't get there until about 6:00, which I'm hoping is still early enough to be decently close to the stage.

I'm hearing rumors that only 2,200 tickets were sold. Can anyone confirm this?

I don't know exactly what your budget is but Priceline has hotels in Bakersfield for $33 (that's before fees and taxes I assume but it's worth a look)

Yeah, I'm on a pretty tight budget though. And I'm legit so paranoid of bed bugs lately, I'd rather sleep in the car than what I assume will look and feel like a $33 hotel even if I could spare that.

Honestly, like I said, I really didn't expect for this to happen. I mean, I always try to grab tickets for cool stuff like this, but it's always just a brief little fantasy due to things like not being able to actually get a ticket or the event being too far away and travel expenses being completely prohibitive. So I'm still kind of in shock that I'm actually doing this.

After I bought this ticket and rented a car, both of which were expenses I probably shouldn't have gone in on at this point, suddenly things in my life decided they were just going to start fucking up. Presumably to spite me for getting excited about something good happening. The stupid power converter in the trailer I'm living in took a shit, the brakes on my car are completely going out again even though I just got like 10 brake parts fixed, and right when I got home from errands yesterday, my engine was steaming and there was coolant splashed all over my engine compartment and the side of my car. Ugh.

Whatever, that back story is unnecessary. Just mainly pointing out that I'd like to keep my expenses as minimal as humanly possible. And a hotel room seems like something I can cut corners on and still be okay. But sleeping in my car still isn't my favorite thing in the world, so that's why I figured I'd give it a shot and ask here. And once again, I'll be getting in line far, far earlier in the day than 2pm or so. So it's a serious offer I'm giving to have a spot at the very front of the line without needing to actually get in line until shortly before doors. It's the least I can do lol.

Where are these bloody tickets??? It says we're supposed to print them off to get into the venue, but I don't have a printer at home and I was banking on printing them off while at work tonight...... I don't have time to find a printer tomorrow, i'll be heading to the airport..... I wonder if they'll let me change from e-ticket to will call on the day of the show when I get there.

I hear you.
Nothing to print here either.
My son takes his driver's permit test tomorrow and then we are heading off on our rememberable *right of passage* road trip. I too will have limited time with printing capabilities. I think our drive is only 12hrs one way to arena. Plus a roadside stop to Amoeba so he can get his mind blown away, though I just remembered his generation isn't all that CD/hardcopy crazy so I guess the Amoeba hand job is for me(?)

No tix here either. @elchalvindore def stop at Amoeba Hollywood, but just keep in mind its two hours from the venue, so unless you're coming from Mexico I'm betting this is out of your way. If you do stop, check out Trejos Tacos which are a block up the street.

Edit: What's interesting is that when I try to access the order on AXS it attempts to load then times out and takes me back to the account page as opposed to loading and displaying the receipt.

OOooooOOOOOohhhh! I LOVE THAT TACO PLACE!! I ALWAYS HIT IT WHEN IN THAT AREA!!
---and yes, I'm still in debate on which Amoeba location to stop Berkeley or LA....I think both locations are about equivalent miles/time out of way.
Fortunately for me both my boys are music lovers and musically inclined (inspiring me to take up guitar lessons and they let me 'strum n pluck' with them since I don't 'shred' and keep to the acoustic as I'm beginner, lol.) A side trip of this nature is a very welcomed must! Oh shite! I don't know if I can keep my giddiness in check I'm so excited. QUICK-I NEED A SUPER SONIC ETS SPAM SLAP OUT OF IT-

(if it's the same taco place i'm thinking of, it has outside seating with high round tables and umbrellas and we had a mini spiral outing there back in the day--oooOOOooh I 'member that)

So a very awesome friend may be willing to help me out with a hotel room by getting me an amazing discount, but even after that it's still quite outside my price range. He said he'd possibly be able to get me into this hotel (http://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/california/hampton-inn-and-suites-bakersfield-hwy-58-ca-BFLWPHX/index.html) at a 50% off rate. Normally the rooms are around $110 so I'd be getting a ~$55 rate. Howwwwever... This is still honestly more than I'd be able to spend for a hotel room for the night. I'm sure that's ridiculous to a lot of you, but I'm really trying to make this trip work by the seat of my pants.

So I wanted to post here and put out some feelers. Would any of you guys be willing to bunk in a room like this with me for about $30 total on Wed, July 19? You'd be getting your own Queen bed. And honestly, I'll be getting into Bakersfield early Wednesday morning and I'll almost certainly be spending basically the entire day either in line or very near the venue. So you won't really have to deal with me at all, other than after the show and early in the morning.

I'm not 100% if my friend is going to be able to do this, or if they would be comfortable with another person being there, but I wanted to check in here in case any of you guys are interested. Please let me know, PM me or whatever, and we can connect on Facebook or exchange numbers or whatever.

Also, if anybody needs a ride from the Tahoe/Reno/Carson/etc area, please let me know. I'm renting a car for the first time in my life and a little company on the 6 hour drive sounds like it would be neat.

So, sounds like there's an actual issue with the ticketing system then. I'll wait to see if I have the e-mail by the time I wake up tomorrow and call AXS customer service to try and change to will call if I don't have the e-mail tomorrow. I might be able to run to a staples to print it off before my flight if they're waiting in my e-mail by the time I get up.

This better not be one of those shows where they play 4 or 5 songs and get "interrupted" and ushered off stage and the show ends early. All this buzz about a new ARG and add violence being a YZ tie in has me worried, lol.

Would explain the cheap ticket price.

While I think most of us would eat that up, I think the "casual(?)" fan would freak out and not care about the back story. I truly think its a rehearsal show, and the only reason its not in LA is (in my opinion) some sort of clause stopping them from playing a show within 100 miles of FYF fest so they dont kill ticket sales. Exposition Park is 115 miles from Rabobank Arena. I can't think of any other reason TR would want to leave the west side and go to Bakersfield, unless its the only place they can have for an extended period of time to run tech rehearsals leading up to their festival shows.

Someone earlier claimed the low number of tix sold for the show. I think there is some truth to that, the stage is in the center of the floor, and they only sold half of the lower bowl and part of the floor as reflected in the stubhub listings....

If no ticket available for print before we leave tomorrow, I'll pack the printer and laptop in the trunk n some extra paper in case a few others need theirs printed (within reason...I won't be printing 2,200 etickets.) Solutions are being generated, stop sweating it, Life is Good.

That's possible, but I think it's more to do with (1) being able to find a decent sized venue on very short notice (assuming this wasn't planned all along) and (2) playing somewhere where you know you're only getting serious fans. Playing in the middle of nowhere, largely for people who had early access codes, ensures it'll be more of an intimate fan/family/close-knit show. If they fuck up, it's fine, because we won't be judgy like a festival crowd. Moreover, from their perspective, it gives them a chance to be the band people came to see, rather than festivals, where half or more of the audience might just be hanging around to see what all the fuss is about.

Off of Bakersfield, for what its worth....

I went to a dress rehearsal in 2008 at the staples center. But it was a free show, nin geocached the tickets in a graveyard. I think there was 300 people there, free posters for all. 2 1/2 hour show with a short Q&A with Trent and getting to see the light show and stage show before the media was pretty cool. The best part about it was being a rehearsal they played every single song, or close to every song, that got played that tour that night.

The Forum, not Staples. The same place they played when they played LA for real that tour.

Ah, that fucking ticket game. I left work unnoticed for two hours to look in a bathroom stall in Santa Monica, clamber awkwardly up some sabertooth tiger statues at the La Brea Tar Pits, look through a pile of dirt somewhere I can't remember, and- later that night- wait outside a strip club until it opened... all to no avail.

Toadflax

^^^ And not to burst any bubbles, but that was a rehearsal for a massive tour, where this is a warm up for (as far as we know) four 90 minute shows. While they've undoubtedly rehearsed more than 90 minutes of music in order to change things up and have backups when need be, don't expect some epically long show. That said, there might be a song or two they play tomorrow that they decided just doesn't work live or with an audience, and we end up seeing the only performance of it ever.

Either way, I'm so stoked to be seeing them at a show where I haven't massively spoiled myself by tracking the tour/setlists up until now! I think the only way this is a disappointing show is if they literally just play She's Gone Away and Less Than and then just allll the hits we've seen 100 times before. That seems pretty unlikely, though (and even then, fuck, it's the first NIN show in three years!).

As part of the YZ ARG flash drives were left at venues for fans to find. One was found in a Bathroom stall during a performance in Lisbon Portugal. The description below is taken from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_Zero_(album)

Part of this promotional campaign involved USB drives (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_flash_drive) that were left in concert venues for fans to find during Nine Inch Nails' 2007 European tour. During a concert in Lisbon (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisbon), Portugal, a USB flash drive (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_flash_drive) was found in a bathroom stall containing a high-quality MP3 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP3) of the track "My Violent Heart", a song from the then-unreleased album.[33] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_Zero_%28album%29#cite_note-violentleak-33) Another USB drive was found at a concert in Barcelona (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barcelona), Spain, containing the track "Me, I'm Not".[34] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_Zero_%28album%29#cite_note-memnotfound-34) Messages found on the drives and tour clothing led to additional websites and images from the game, and the early release of several unheard songs from the album.

BTW, I used to do this thing for some of the NIN shows I've been to where I bring a small blank page bound journal and sharpie pens and hand the book off during the -in line waiting time- and have peeps write freely n pass it on in hopes to fill it. If book gets moderately filled with ink then I'll try to find someone to pass it off to so it can reach the big man back stage....
It's a great way to pass the time
I took an inflatable sex (doll?) sheep to a San Diego show once. Lots of fun was had with that sheep. Poked, inked, porned, and molested and fist-fucked too by many hands-- I guess it never made its way back stage. Seems that the person in charge of that took it one step further and 'popped it' (maybe he used it for the factory intended purposes?)

I've shared a lot of stories with my sons about ninscapades, my ninmomfangirl sheninanigans, n about the generosities that NIN has bestowed on its fan base and that yes NIN does in fact have a sense of humor. He has been (bred and) briefed to be prepared for the weird.

Also, this is old school NIN show practice from the spiral days, but when we get let in to the venue and get to the GA area, SIT DOWN! I don't have an extra GA but in all likelihood someone will have an extra ticket. My advice would be to get there early and just ask around.

I was thinking of turning on my Lyft app for driving back from the show, figuring someone might need a ride to LA...but if a group of y'all want to carpool and help pay gas I would be down for that. I was going to leave in the morning for Bakersfield.

Also, if anyone hasn't taken Lyft before, use my promo code NINLYFT (rad right?) and get $5 towards your first ride. Also good for signing bonus if you sign up to drive for Lyft.

Just take the extra seated ticket offered above if it's still available so you know you can get in, and then try to find someone selling GA when you get there. You're still spending the same price as most NIN shows.

So . . . wonder what kind of stampede this will cause:

I have an extra GA ticket that I'm willing sell (my +1 bailed).

Several conditions:

1) Kinda looking for a concert buddy. You know, a 'you got my back, I got yours' kind of a thing. Just someone to hang with for the show, and pull me back to my feet if some starf*cker knocks me down.

2) Must be willing to endure the 'crush' near the stage.

3) I'm older, female, and have been rocking out at concerts since before many of you were even thought of. First live shows? Led Zeppelin, The Who, Black Sabbath, etc. You get the picture.

4) I don't need a babysitter, and I don't want to be one. I don't drink, but I don't mind if you do. Just as long as you don't ruin my show by puking all over the place (or me). I don't mind smoke, either; knock yourself out. But I can't hang with it myself. The shit these days? OMFG. Can't do that. Makes me catatonic.

That's it. Been a NIN fan for a while. Saw them w/ APC in Sac a number of years ago, again with Jane's Addiction on the NINJa tour in Santa Barbara, and caught their two 'final' shows at the Henry Fonda Music Box Theater and the Wiltern.

Let me know if you're interested and don't mind hanging out with an old rocker chick. My husband's not a NIN fan, and I'd rather go with someone who understands just how awesome this show's gonna be.

Oh, and wear your boots.

Hi there, I used to post here a few years back but forgot my username/pw so I created a new one.
I'm flying in from Canada for this and I got an extra ticket as my friend can no longer make it.
I need a ride from LAX to Bakersfield, so if you can pick me up at the airport, my extra ticket is yours. *No smoking please. PM me if interested.
I've got a hotel and will rent a car the next day (staying a few days in CA) so I don't need a ride back.
Also, I need to book my flight tonight (last minute I know) and I'm looking at a flight that lands at 6pm at LAX and it seems like it's about a 2-hour drive to get to Bakersfield with traffic. Do you locals think this is too tight?
Thanks!
Not sure where in Canada you are coming from, but look at flights to Vegas. Its an easy 4 hour drive, you may be able to get an earlier flight, and rental cars are stupid cheap.

But no way in hell would I look at landing at LAX at 6 and expect to make the show. You need at least a 4 hour cushion. Delays and traffic are going to kill you.

PM me where you are flying from, budget, and how early in the day you can leave and I'll do some digging.

If you gotta go through customs/Tom Bradley there is no way that is happening for you. It might take you an hour just to go through customs, get a car/ride, and get on the freeway.

Evidently there's a company called "Linear Air Taxi" that will take you from LAX to Bakersfield in 1 hour for the low-low price of $1500.

//edit

Looks like there are a few flights direct to Bakersfield Airport (BFL) that transfer via SFO. They leave at 6am, but they're "only" $400.

I'd be happy to take you to the show if you could get to Beverly Hills by 3:30 or shortly thereafter, but I don't think that's likely between getting through the airport, getting an Uber, and traffic in general.

No problem here! I don't even own a shirt that isn't black lol.

Anyway, I'll be in a fixed t-shirt and black shorts.

Also, I'm in Bakersfield now. Caught the 7:30pm flight out of Vancouver. Transferred in San Fran. Staying a 9 min walk from the venue. Not entirely sure what time I'll head to the venue yet, but it'll probably be in the early afternoon between 1-2. Probably grab a bunch of food and water to Get me through standing in 100 degree weather for like 6 hrs.... Lol.....

Really depends on if they decide to rehearse a bunch of songs for a one time intimate show. That being said I'd say it's better than 50/50 this won't be the exact same set list as the festival dates.

Have fun tonight kids/lucky bastoids.

Yeah, no way they rehearsed a bunch of extra stuff for a show they probably decided to do very recently. Most likely, as with the LITS warm up show, we'll be getting the vast majority of what they rehearsed, but for four 90 minute festival dates, that may not be very much. As I mentioned a page ago, though, there's always a chance we get a show tonight that they decide not to move forward with, and we see the only ever performance of it. I wouldn't hate that.

there have been documented waits of 20 minutes+ for an uber, so if time is of the essence you should see if there is a cab available.

Not saying you can't get lucky w/ Uber & Lyft but if you want guarantees...

I will most likely have my Cold Cave "People Are Poison" tote bag with me, so if you see that come say hi! (I promise I'm friendly)
As many people who have waited in line for hours with me will attest. I get muppet-Y (in a good way, not the way euros and Aussies use it, lol) as I get to hear stories and meet wonderful NIN peeps.

Gigi (Google) is telling me at least two hours from drive my place in suburbia.

Take L Street off of Truxtun Ave and turn left. Follow the signs that say "Event Parking" and you'll see "Unlimited Parking" towards the rear of the lot.

I'm so damn jealous of y'all. My ass is sitting here in the hot Georgia muggy night playing Overwatch and constantly refreshing the ARG thread. Y'all have a great time! Search those bathrooms ;)

went by front of line and dropped journal with pens like a hot potato in a dude's lap. I guess i need to explain the deal...in spiral line at shows we used to pass down a note book while waiting in line, scribbling whatever in the book. the idea was to make an interesting 'fan read' from each show. i don't mean fandom stories, etc, but just a general whatever you wanted to say to the man or the band. the last person with the book either sees that it makes it back stage (same as what we do when we want our shit autographed and know the big boys prob don't want to come out n play with us) or be the person to return the journal to whomever started the journal. it seemed to be successful in spiral.. though it seemed that never would an entire book get filled with howdy do's, etc...so sometimes the book would be made complete with fan pics taken at that particular show doing what fans do best when bored and in line but be fans...
either put up or shut up, y'all know how to get back in touch with me if you don't want to see the mission through.

Wouldn't it be somewhat humorous if a group of friends went and just throwing usbs full of random images, numbers, and video clips all over the arena? They'd have us busy for years

Anybody planning to FB Live stream?

Edit: C'mon Trent, you didn't have to answer via all social media channels. A DM would do just fine.

Two years ago, I went to see Muse at the opening show of their tour in Belfast, in a pretty small venue for them. Some guy brought in a fake setlist and started uploading pics of it about ten minutes after we all got in. I have to admit, that was a genius move of trolling.

Some guy in the 'Nine Inch Nails' group on Facebook mentioned that he might be streaming from it. Don't know if it will actually happen.

Do we have times for opener and NIN start? It's usually around 9 local time for NIN, right?

Maybe they're filming it so they can not release it on Blu Ray in summer of 2014

There is a sign stating that Dissonance Inc is recording tonight's show. The merch booth has all of the tee shirts and beanies for the two EPs and vinyl of Hesitation Marks and Deviations. There was nothing of note that I could tell on the way in.

I'm fairly confident that's a large projector

I wonder where the cameras are. The only one that I've seen is the one on the back of the stage towards the left.
Edit: I guess that could also be a projector. I'm far enough back that I can't tell. I think that there a projector on the lighting rig.

Thanks to anyone streaming tonight! I've been looking forward to staying up late in Chicago watching this. You're the best, and you'll have people around the world watching also.

My seat is obstructed by FOH and the lighting rigs so no video will be streamed from my end but the show also won't be starting for a while yet. Tobacco I believe goes on in 10 minutes.
