I was actually hoping they would have stayed with the heavier sound to be honest. It was a bit refreshing to hear from them, but it looks like we're getting a medley of different genres again.

I was late paying attention to Muse, and I think that my entry point - The Resistance - perhaps makes me a little more tolerant (or even appreciative) of their stylistic excursions. It's nice being able to just roll into the next record without any specific expectations and know that even if the album isn't mind-blowing, it's unlikely to detract from the live experience.
What's my point? Well, I just paid a stupid amount for tickets to one of their intimate fall gigs and am trying to pump myself up despite the above reactions to the new singles (which I have been avoiding). Ah, well...I'm sure the show will be great regardless.
Muse live never disappoints. I got tickets today, too, after refreshing multiple times. Still a smoother experience than getting tickets to NIN in Cleveland.
Best song in YEARS.

it's heavy, but it's not over the top great. I like it though, maybe I need more time with it.
Of the four released so far, Don't Back Down (the consistently heaviest) is the best by quite a way for me. My initial enthusiasm for the project waned with each release since that.
So the new album is out. And who could've guessed? It's, well... Not good.
The heavier elements of Won't Stand Down, and Kill Or Be Killed were the only aspects that tickled my interest. Verona isn't a bad little song, but damn are the lyrics on here friggin' AWFUL.
Mid as mid can get. I really like Ghosts though. You Make Me Feel Like it’s Halloween is fun and catchy. Definitely gonna be on the spooky szn playlist this year, but overall not a big fan of this record.
I gave it a shot and exited quickly. The first song just sounded like an extremely lazy ripoff of The Beautiful People and that was enough for me.
When I heard the song "Will of the People", I was like...
Will of the People is BAD. Cringe bad.
lol
The new record got ripped apart on Pitchfork for whatever that's worth

It’s mostly dumb but harmless and enjoyable to listen to overall. Good enough for me. Especially how eh I was on a good chunk of Simulation Theory.
Oh, man. I forgot I pre-ordered this turd on vinyl. It arrived today. The only plus is that it's the version with signed art cards inside, so I guess that's kinda cool.
