Not that it matters for the new season of True Detective, but I'm rewatching season one.

Damn, almost forgot how awesome this show is. Can't wait to see what's in store for this season.

Poltergiest remake is utterly pointless. Its not as creepy or atmospheric as the 1982 classic.
And the little girl is nowhere near as enigmatic or ethereal and mysterious as Heather O Rourke.
It made me want to watch the sequels. I thought Poltergiest 2 was the weakest and forgettable, but found Poltergiest 3 (the one with the worst reputation) to have some really strong moments, its really disturbing at points, its to do with Carol Annes telepathic powers, and mirror reflections of the demon, theres loads of arty experimental ideas, its a shame the plot is a total mess and it has a bad ending as Heather died. That also adds to the weirdness of it, but i feel it could have been an amazing film.

Manhattan Murder Mystery - fun movie, in which Woody Allen's overacting and generally being too much Woody Allen is balanced by a great Diane Keaton
Ender's Game - a balancing act between the fascist undertones and intriguing storytelling with surprisingly adequate acting. I ended up liking it more than I initially thought.
Guardians of the Galaxy - Good, but not very good popcorn cinema. Too many chaotic action scenes, and the plastic feel of too much CGI on a TV screen. It's more Star Wars prequels than a new Star Wars. But it had enough stuff in it for me to enjoy.

Wayward Pines, The Whispers, and The Naked Archaeologist.
I am stuck in bed so i am watching A LOT of netflix/plex/hulu.

    Also, i ADORED insidious 3.

Poltergeist was kind of a let down though-for some reason i expected it to terrify me because the first one did.
But then i realized that i saw the first one when i was 6 or 7 years old, so, yeah.
Another thing is that there wasn't really anything like Poltergeist when it came out. Now those type of flicks are a dime a dozen. Don't get me wrong, it's my favorite genre, but the really good ones are few and far between.

Sons Of Anarchy into Season 4
Hannibal Season 2, my absolute favorite!

sarah and i finished the whole of Star Trek TNG the other night (her first time through any star trek series), and while the credits were rolling, she asked "can we start original series now!?" which we did two minutes later. hahaha. i love my nerdy wife.

also, finally watched Tron Legacy last night (don't ask me why it took so long) and it was FANTASTIC.

she's the same person who wrote/directed/starred in "Me and you and everyone we know", aka the movie with the scene where two kids ask a lady on the internet if she wants to "poop back and forth forever"

anyway, i've never seen any of her films but i've heard she's quite talented and have always meant to check out her work.

Oh yes yes yes. I will never tire of that movie.

By the way (and I know the article is a couple of years old) did you know about this?

Anderson has since discovered a VHS tape with the original cut of the movie which, with some work, could be made to function for the director's cut, much like the extended cut of Aliens 3. Would anyone else be interested in this?
The original cut with the 20 minutes of gore? Why would we be interested in such a thing?

That man is sitting on the original cut of his masterpiece. If it wasn't evident that there's something wrong with him before; it's pretty clear now.
