fucking hell, 2023 tour canceled, I'm super bummed, who knows when they will tour again now.
I really hope he recovers but this really sucks.

Yep. My show was postponed THREE times and now it's just straight cancelled. I've just about given up hope that I will ever see this band live.

Edit: This news put me in a shitty mood earlier, so I wanted to clarify – I do think Zack has a perfectly good reason to cancel with his Achilles tendon (which I hope heals back to 100% so he can finally perform again). It just really sucks because I've had tickets since they first went on sale back in January, 2020 or whenever it was, and I've been really excited for this show only to have it pushed back three times and now called off completely.

It's understandable, but I wish RTJ would do a solo tour, we need a proper RTJ4 tour. Yes, I was an RATM fan first, but in 2022 I was more excited about seeing RTJ than RATM.

Bummer. I've had tickets since whenever they originally went on sale. 2019?

I got to see them several years back, but was really hoping to catch them again. Oh well. They've got a pretty good reason to cancel, and I give Zack props for sticking it out for as long as he has. Time to get that achilles fixed.

In between rehabbing the leg, I'd love to see these bastards record some new shit.

This is exactly how I feel. I mean all the sympathy and well wishes to Zach, but I guess I just don't understand why he can't just still perform sitting on a box next year. Just feels like shit to keep stringing us along for three years and then actually do half of the tour, but still be part of the other half that just doesn't have a single chance of seeing this tour now. To be quite honest the excitement of seeing this show was one of the few things keeping me going through the last couple of years. Major disappointment.

I guess I would just hope that whenever Zach is okay to walk again they 10000% make sure to play every city they kicked the can down the road just to cancel.

Absolutely sucks for all the fans who've waited so long, but I hope Zach gets the rest & recovery he needs in order to perform again one day.

And yeah, get in that fucking studio in the meantime boys. I have no doubt there's still some good RATM music left in them all.

I honestly doubt that's ever going to happen. Zack very much concerns himself with the legacy of the band. Which is one of the reasons why they broke up in the first place. I could imagine tensions within the band would ramp up again because of this if they were going to work on a new album.

Which is too bad, because the few tracks that was released of the scrapped Prophets of Rage record actually sounded like Tim, Tom and Brad were finally going into a fresh direction with their sound again. Which would've gone together great with the attitude Zack has shown on his RTJ features.

Hoodoo Gurus are an old fave of mine. They've outright cancelled a US tour twice due to COVID. Just got an email announcing another try at the tour in May. Hope third time is the charm & they have better luck than Rage. I'm spoiled. I saw Rage open for House of Pain in what used to be a roller disco when their first record had just come out. The bodies were flying that night!

    Timmy C has prostate cancer

How were you able to go out and play arenas with Rage this summer?
Two months before the tour, I had surgery and my doctors said I wasn’t going to be ready. That was brutal. I would be on stage looking at my amp in tears. Then you just kind of turn around and suck it up.
    Oh man, the feels.

    From Brad's IG:
"I know a lot of people are waiting for us to announce new tour dates for all the canceled RATM shows. I don't want to string people or myself along any further. So while there has been some communication that this may be happening in the future...I want to let you know that RATM (Tim, Zack, Tom and I) will not be touring or playing live again. I'm sorry for those of you who have been waiting for this to happen. I really wish it was..."

Sounds to me like they are done. I had a ticket to one of the cancelled shows. They had a good run, I hope Zack and Timmy C are recovering. Thanks for their music.

Such a fucking bummer. I never got to see them and I had floor tickets for the Minneapolis show. I even had an opportunity to buy tickets from a friend for the Milwaukee show (the show right before Zack tore his Achilles tendon), but I figured I'd just wait for the Mpls show, so I passed. I wish I could borrow the DeLorean and tell my 2022 self to get my ass to that show...

Saw them at Woodstock ‘99. Awesome show. Would have loved to see them again, but that memory will more than suffice.

Form Brad's wording; it's obvious some kind of fight happened...

I figured they were done when they got inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November.

Or as Tom said in his induction speech: "Don't wait for us. We are not here."

If I had to make a wild guess, they've been fighting about the same thing they've been arguing about since they got signed: optics and legacy.

They have been strictly a touring band (on/off) for the last 25 years. They can ride in separate buses and stay in separate hotels. They only have to see each other 2 hours a night for a few hours. Shame they can't get along if that's what it is.

Totally sucks, but like quite a few of you it seems like it's either health or arguing that is going on.

I had tickets to see them with Beastie Boys in 2000, then brokeup. Also had tickets to Coachella in 2020 then Covid...

Judging by how so-called "socialist" loves to promote his SiriusXM stuff, I'd wager he's the problem. Shame, but is what it is

I've had this idea rattling around in my head for a couple weeks that RATM had a hand in the world today. I hope you have your tin foil hats ready because this is wild; and I fully understand that this is a stretch btw.

Remember the DNC riot in Los Angeles?
During the concert, the band's front-man Zack de la Rocha said to the crowd, "brothers and sisters, our democracy has been hijacked,"[6] and later shouted "we have a right to oppose these motherfuckers!"[8]
I believe this is where the idea that the Machine = the Democrats started. I mean, Paul Ryan - not to mention numerous other "what do you mean they're political" people - had to get their weird ideas about the band from somewhere, right?

It's a nascent idea and it's honestly more of a feeling than something I can start to pull citations for but it's been on my mind.

So are Rage ever going to allow Sunny from Hate5Six to release his full length recordings of those final shows now? Dude got to film like 5 (maybe more?) RATM shows there at the end and is seemingly just sitting on a wealth of new live material, that I'm assuming the Rage camp was keeping him from releasing.

Brad is a Scientologist and Tim sincerely believes in Illuminati conspiracy theories. I doubt Tom's relentless desire for recognition as an established rock star would've been the only strongly felt problematic issue about continuing a band like RATM.

Well, they just posted another snippet of the material on Instagram just one hour ago. Maybe they are working on something bigger? One can hope...

Zack hurt himself the show after Wisconsin, so the Alpine Valley show is the only one of the tour where he stood the entire time

Yeah, I know. I said so in the post you quoted. Were you one of the lucky ones in attendance there? If so, I'm jealous.

Does Commerford think the band is over? “I don’t know,” he says. “I don’t get involved in that. I’m the bass player. I just wait for someone to tell me what to do. Brad said what he said, but he’s one step above me. He’s in the number three spot. I am the low man on the totem pole. That’s all I can tell you. I’m the bass player. The bass players always are the last people to find out about shit like that.”
