i know i'm in the far minority here, but era vulgaris is my favorite qotsa album. it's an oddball record and that's why i love it. "turnin' on the screw" is such an awesome opener.

To this day I still can't understand why they left the awesome title track off that (regular release) album.
it's not my favorite, but it's not like it's bad at all.
Holy fucking shit, it's happening! They also announced shows for Australia and New Zealand in July, which I'm really excited for! It's gonna be fantastic to see em again.
Does anyone think that possibly the title of the new album is Coming Twentyfive?
I hope the album title isn't TwentyFive (or Coming TwentyFive). That is a little too close to "Say10". Either way, this is definitely my most anticipated release of 2017. It will be fascinating to see what direction Josh has taken the band. Hard to see them topping ...Like Clockwork, especially from a lyrical/narrative standpoint. That record is a career-defining masterpiece. Plus it is aging like a fine French Bordeaux. Their 2013 Austin City Limits show was on Palladium the other night and I almost forgot how great those songs sounded live (especially Vampyre Of Time And Memory...good God!).
@Failure yeah but it isn't a lame and juvenile 11-year old Catholic schoolboy-style pun like Say10 is so I'm okay with it if it is a title
I don't expect anything to beat out Like Clockwork, which is part of why I'm so excited -- their discography has been so consistent and fantastic record to record that now it's at a point where I never worry about whether I'll like it or not but just wait for it and know I'm probably gonna love it. I have a hard time even comparing their work to itself because they've all got something the others don't. One of the most consistent rock bands of their generation.
i just saw the video from halloween, 2014, at the forum with JAKE fucking SHEARS joining them for "keep your eyes peeled."
so awesome.
I agree! One thing I absolutely love about Queens is how each album is an unique standalone musical statement. They've all introduced new, exciting elements to their constantly mutating overall sound, and I bet this upcoming album will be no different. It's going to be really intriguing to hear what direction the band heads in, since Like Clockwork was such a boldly emotive and atmospheric surprise.

The new album is finished and mixed...
With that news and tomorrow being the 25th I am really hoping we get a single release within the next day.

Expect to be surprised
They've dropped a photo with some interesting teasers in it. Horns & violins? EXCITEMENT.
So it's the big Ska/string quartet fusion album we've all been waiting for. Awesome.
Maybe Trent and Flea do some of the brass instruments.
So the album is finished and mixed, we assumed TwentyFive meant something like a date to expect a single.
April 25th has passed, we're nearing May 25th... and then of course there's every other 25th day of each month that follows and if that's not what the "TwentyFive" is supposed to even mean then what? The band isn't 25 years old so it's not an anniversary, they're not gearing up for their 25th album release, the hell does it mean? I don't get it. Can't be just an album title i mean wtf?
I was hoping for something today (20-5). I guess it's still early...
It's going to be released in 8 years, obviously.
I bet it's just a song title or something.

Praying there's more to come, preferably a tiny bit more south.
