don't remember if i've put this up before. apologies if redundant.
it has been a long wait. supposedly the record was imminent during the 2016 tour. i was lucky enough to see 2 awesome shows early in the tour with wildly different set lists. at that time, the cure were my bucket list band. had an amazing run of bad luck regarding cure shows starting with the wish tour. it was worth the wait as they had reeves gabrels by the time i finally saw them. he's one of my favorite guitar players of all time starting with his time with bowie.
The thread drift was kinda my fault, guys. Sorry about that.
i put the pizza stuff up on the cure site & credited to my friends @ ETS. you think the trauma over no new record is bad here....you ain't seen nothing! there actually is a cure community pizza thread, haha.![]()
This better be the best album in the world. /barney

Good news: Bloodflowers is finally getting a vinyl repressing for RSD this year (prices for the original are outrageous!)
Bad news: It's a fucking picture disc.
Also, Seventeen Seconds is getting a pic disc repress as well, because that needs to be a thing.
can someone please tell robert that, while picture discs are pretty, they sound like shit? ugh!
I'm definitely not disagreeing with this, but there's a wide range of pic disc sound quality. Tool's Lateralus is beyond terrible, but my ACS copy is passable. It seems hit or miss, and I'm not willing to take that chance with (one of) my favorite Cure album(s). Hopefully a standard black copy will be out a few months down the road.
if the new album were called "COVID19" the Cure, it might go viral & be the best selling record of all time. yes, i am going stir crazy at this point....
I mean, no more touring throughout 2020 to be sure, this sure would be an amazing time to just announce that it's time...

A sad commentary on our times indeed, but it'd pass the time at least.![]()
Just hope he doesnt BURN the pizza.................................. (laaaaame)
There's a Fire in Cairo joke in there somewhere but I'm too lazy.
I had a really bizarre dream last night where I came across a demo tape that included rough versions of Maybe Someday and another song (can’t remember what it was). Anyway, the Maybe Someday early version was nicknamed “banana song” or something similar, with Robert singing about greed and walking past some rough looking dude shoving bananas in his mouth on a stick. The song itself sounded great.
Which leads me to ask... is this really the only new Cure I’m ever going to hear? Weird shit in my dreams? These delays are powerful. Some Gandalf “YOU SHALL NOT PASS” shit happening here with new Cure albums. I mean pizzas.
Also, RSD Bloodflowers and Seventeen Seconds releases pushed back:
