I, for one, would kill to see a Japanese Whispers - The Top - Head on the Door trilogy.
I'll also out myself as a card-carrying The Top tragic. Better than Faith and at least as good as Seventeen Seconds, Pornography and Disintegration if you ask me.

Southside Festival 2012 webcast
fantastic setlists... so gutted I missed them at the 02 in 2009, they never seem to play anything but festivals
in the UK we have a wildlife programme called springwatch, the presenter attempts to shoehorn songtitles in without people noticing, here's a compilation of him deploying the cure here & there
I hope they keep Reeves permanently.
So my friends and I are considering a Leeds day-ticket, for ~90 each plus fuel (100 miles each way from here) food etc. - quite a lot for one band. And the Saturday line-up otherwise looks crap I started wondering whether another festival was a better bet: I looked briefly at the Ireland one and the total lineup is much better than Leeds on the Saturday, but I can't figure out who is on what night (and I haven't even started looking at costs.)
Saturday, thanks. I couldn't figure that out from their website!
Fun interview via COF: http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek/beitr...%28The-Cure%29
Around the 20 minute mark he gives his opinion of the New Order/Cure vendetta.
When The Cure have technical problems with the keyboard, and have to delay the start of the show, Robert decides to do a quick solo set.
And here's and Part 2 of the webcast.

Show started about 50 minutes (not counting Robert's solo set) later than planned, due to technical problems with the keyboards.
That's a show man right there. Most guys would just wait it out. He played a mini-acoustic set. Hell yeah!
Axl would go away to eat some tacos and only come back 2-3hrs later
Video interview with Robert -

Hey guys, the tumblr One Week, One Band is running a weeklong series of articles on The Cure put together by an extremely well-written Cure trainspotter. I highly encourage you to check it out. Whether you're a big fan of "The Lovecats" or a former roadie, you're likely to learn something new about the band.
Fucking awesome, thanks. And two more boots to boot.
QUESTION FOR THE BRITS: OK So I'm still seriously considering Leeds. Do you think that there's any chance that a) They'll play a comparable-length set to the other festivals they've headlined or b) the sound mix will be worth shit? Edit: c) will it be broadcast and how cut will the broadcast be? (option B is a staycation festival in front of the HD telly.)
Robert Smith at press conference just now:
Chain of Flowers @CraigatCoF Robert: "I will play a new song, in Ireland. I will play it once. Because it's beautiful"

Cure press conference at Vieilles Cahrrues
Press conference going on right now at the festival. Can watch live if you're in France. Video will be posted later, they say. Photo 1 - 2
- Robert speaks about Reeves Gabrels. He says he was the only person who has the required talent to take the place of Porl.
- Someone in the audience asks if they will play the next trilogy The Top/HOTD/Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me. Robert answered "Don't believe everything I say" (about what he said at the end of the trilogy at RAH: "See you for the next 3").
- He announced a remix album with Mogwai, Cranes, etc. for the end of the year.
- A lot of questions about the future of Cure. Robert: "I don't worry about the future"
- Robert: "Playing these festivals is very selfish"
- Robert: "The best line-up of the Cure is a 5 piece"
- Robert: "When I was a teenager I learned French by reading Camus and Sartre"
- Robert: "Music that I listen to now? Billy holliday!"
- Robert: "I will play a new song, in Ireland. I will play it once. Because it's beautiful"
- Robert: "If The Cure keeps going, it's because I keep going. If I'd stop, there would be no The Cure 2 with the rest of the band"
- Robert seems to be really pissed of by the press conference.. Too many people.
- Press conference is over. I didn't hear a half of what Robert said because of the video's lag.. Very bad signal.. (Thanks Johan)
Love this extended mix -
First hour of their Reading set is on iplayer for the next 6 days.
Thanks. The rest is up too, including "trust" which sounded great IMHO. Frankly the first hour didn't excite me much, maybe just the audio capture is flat. I'm told the whole lot is on dime.
Quite a wish heavy set: hints at a deluxe rerelease soon?
Yeah I was pleased they opened with... Er.. "open" - great song. On the whole though, such a long set but only about 10 of my favourites. Band is bang on the money though. Nice lighting rig. Crowd full of knobheads and kids though... About ten people cheered when 100 years started up. Yep I am a Snob.
Looks like The Cure are playing some random festival this summer in Montreal, Quebec Canada...
http://www.montrealgazette.com/enter...351/story.html
Damn, I wonder if this means there is hope for a full blown North American tour this summer/fall? Probably not. They seem to just like to do one off shows and festivals these days. It would be nice to see them again though, haven't seen them since the 2004 Curiosa tour in Toronto. I barely even remember that show, it's been almost 10 years!
EDIT: The official Cure site posted this news today as well with the title "ANOTHER SHOW...MORE TO COME..."
http://www.thecure.com/blog/default.aspx?nid=40129
So, maybe this means there will be more North American dates?????
