That's such an amazingly dark, visceral album. It's probably my favorite of their albums, if I had to pick just one. It's like 8 hard punches to the gut, and so immersive in its ability to transport you to a very grimy, cold dark place. Like Disintegration, every song is essential and tells a story. But Disintegration has such lush, dreamy production whereas this is at the opposite end of the spectrum, and almost nightmarish in comparison. I'm still not sure why they didn't go with A Strange Day for the single though, because that seems like the closest thing to radio-friendly on the album.
