Man, if we’re coming out of our coffins for the Wish deluxe edition what will we be doing for the new album? Resurrecting dinosaurs? haha

FYI the record is not limited and will be released in the US in January.
Thank you. Periodic reminder that SHM is a scam.
Good to know. I’ve currently got two on pre order (edit: one with the cd from Piccadilly, then I spotted Amazon was Ł10 cheaper. But I’ll probably cancel the Amazon order anyway because fuck Amazon) but I’ll cancel that down to one.

So I guess the new album is still coming out?
A new Cure special from Record Collector coming soon. New album preview, David M. Allen on the making of Wish, an exclusive extract from Simon Price's Curepedia book, and lots more.

^ “On the eve of the release of “Songs for a Lost World””…
Do people not even spell check these days? Isn’t it Songs Of A Lost World?
Maybe it…slightly changed?
"on the eve of" is interesting wording and it's been bugging me. I'm assuming it's just meant as a general phrase, something like "the album is near it's release" as opposed to being taken literal. I mean if that magazine comes out on September 8th and is supposed to come out the day before the record, you'd think there'd at least be a single out or something.
Then again, September 8th is a Thursday and albums do come out on Fridays right? I think the Wish reissue release got pushed back from October 7th to November 25th as well so there would be a bigger gap in releases if they did want to drop it. This album is like a mirage in the desert though so it's probably just a misquote or some sort of misunderstanding.
Next interview:
”I’m actually working on a second album of noise. I wasn’t happy with the other two albums. 6:26 Scream will be out in 2025 and a special online only third bonus disc for Wish will be available with 100 extra instrumental outtakes. Live from The Moon will be out next week.”
7:35 mark, Jason Cooper talking a bit about the new album:
I flipped through the record collector msg today, but didn’t buy it. (Yet). I forgot there was suppose to be a new album preview in it. Didn’t spot it.
So the tour starts on October 6.
Wish deluxe has been pushed back to late November.
New album when?
Will be interesting to see if there is any new material on the tour. I'm decidedly less interested if it's another nostalgia ride. I will go if they play Seattle (they didn't in 2016) but I don't know if I'd travel for it. I'm taking a stand against going to shows that are just oldies. One great thing about NIN is Trent is constantly putting out new material. There's always something fairly recent in the shows or in the case of Perfect Drug something that has never been played live until last tour. I got lucky & got PD twice on my recent run. Pretty incredible both times. Ilan just destroys on that! As far as Wish deluxe goes, I've got almost all (or maybe all) of the extra material. The selling point would be the remaster. That may be a mixed blessing, we shall see. I really want to here Reeves play with them on studio stuff. He's a brilliant guitar player. I'm starting to fear that the new stuff will be left to Robert's estate. I hope not!
The punchline is I basically don't listen to instrumentals or demos unless its something extraordinary. NIN would be an exception to that. I'm thinking about cleaning out a bunch of that stuff from bands like the Cure to make some space on my hard drives. I'm way more into good concert tapes & actually play those. My time is finite & I have way more stuff than I can ever listen to in the time I have left. Don't want to get too obsessive about this stuff & turn into a Hateful Fred (smelly hippy band from the Bay Area, the GD) head.

I don't really care for those demos (and even worse: instrumental demos) from the deluxe editions. I'd prefer a nice little double cd with a collection of b-sides (and maaaaybe an unreleased song or two, should such a thing exist [I doubt it {for Wish at least}]) on disc 2. Make it a nice digipak, let some nerd write some liner notes, let the artwork shine. It's not that hard.

Image of Reeves in rehearsals posted by Roger O'Donnell.
Roger asked:
"Regarding new album, why do you hate us?"
Roger's reply:
"It's not a product, it's art and why rush? It'll last forever. It will be ready when it's ready."
Looks like the closest thing we'll get any time soon are some new songs live in October.
Looks like the Wish reissue was done now around tour time to satiate the lack of new material.
