Starts at 19:12 with the beach commissioner giving a speech, mentions Depeche Mode getting into the R&R Hall of Fame and suggests NO be inducted next year.
Highlight for me is 02:05:48 - Turn My Way performed for the first time since 2001 -
^ Thanks to this recording I (re)discovered Joy Division - Decades (time 02:28:03), what a strong emotional song, wow... "Where have they been?" (WW1?)
To tell the truth... yes. ;-) Although at the time I was aware only of New Order. Plus the word's meaning is great and being foreigner it sounds amazing to me.
Allright, and something New Order related... Complete Music is great! :-)
(e.g. "If you can hold her in your hands, If you can feel her in your heart, Don't ever let her run away, Don't ever let her drift away"...)
Yes I am aware, but unfortunately "Never Cry Another Tear" wasn't good enough for me to buy so I don't have it. I just now clicked through all songs on YouTube and the only one I really like is "Walk on silver Water". But speaking about side projects, Electronic was amazing, Twisted Tenderness from beginning to end for me.
LWTUA has definitely been reissued before, I’ve got a 7” of it which must be from the mid noughties
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i'll stick with my 1981 Lyntone pressing
i wish i had an older version of unknown pleasures. the remaster is fine (and i like the textured sleeve) but listening to the original version of Closer compared to the remaster makes me think an older vinyl copy of unknown pleasures would sound a bit better.
Seeing this reminds me of the time I knew a guy who had the original pressing Still LP. This was back in the mid/late 90s and had yet to get into Joy Divison in a big way.
He was a sound bloke, but thinking back, damn I should have stolen it.
i have this pressing of Still that i bought at a record store in canada in 2007 for like $25 in surprisingly good condition. ignore the comments on the page about the cloth sleeve & the ribbon, that's a different edition that i could have bought a few years earlier in high school at a local record store, but it was over $100 and i declined :/
This is surprisingly pretty good.

The Peel session take on 586 is also my preferred version of that song (I don’t think they’d actually recorded the LP version when they did that). But I’m on the fence on the box set generally. I didn’t end up buying the Movement one.
New single? :-O OK I'll enjoy this later at home, no idea how it sounds.
Wow, I really dig that!
New Order have shared a new song called 'Be A Rebel'.
It's the first new music to emerge from the band since their last album, 2015's Music Complete, and was originally planned as a release ahead of their tour this autumn. With live shows on hold and that tour rescheduled to 2021, the band have decided to share the track, which you can listen to above, now.
"In tough times we wanted to reach out with a new song," says Bernard Sumner. "We can't play live for a while, but music is still something we can all share together. We hope you enjoy it… until we meet again."
People seem to be decimating this song on their fb page
Its meh...Too poppy. Sounds like a Republic era B side....Bring back Peter Hook
People really need to let go this "Bring back hooky" thing, "Music Complete" was awesome
Music Complete was a good album.....But their feud (aka Bernards feud) with Peter is beyond idiotic and childish.....For 2 guys who have known each other for over 45 years and grew up together and have been in not one but 2 ground breaking bands together and to be bickering over lawsuits at this point is petty beyond belief
It's really not that big of a deal in music terms how bitterly they're at odds. Look at Pink Floyd, those dudes can't stand each other now and they're in their 70s.
Yeah I've been lingering in the Bring Back Hooky camp for a while, but after seeing New Order live last summer I've realised that Music Complete was actually pretty bloody good. I would love to see things patched up, but regardless of what problems they have, life's too short to worry about this from a fan perspective.
As for the new single - yeah, I like it. It is very pop, but I'm not against that. Just seen that there are mixes (from Barney and Stephen) on the 12" so I'll be interested in how they change it up. Just browsing around for a digital download and see that Juno have the single version plus a radio edit.
