Am I wrong in thinking it's a bit odd these shows are less than 2 months away and there is still no word about when they will be going on sale? Usually a big act like this would have been on sale for months already.

Oh definitely. It's Morrissey, haha. In all seriousness a lot has to go in to getting it set up...venue, ticket seller, artist management, blah blah. From what I've read, the tour was just sort of a surprise, so I'm sure his management is working it out with them. You're right though, the one and only time I've seen him live, I had tickets for like half a year before the show.

edit: I just checked out the sites for like 5 of the venues and they're not even listing the shows at all yet, so probably still hashing out the details.

That sucks. The one thing you can try to do is check broker sites perhaps?

edit: Looking at Vivid Seats...there are tickets for a lot of the announced shows. But of course with jacked up prices.

Aren't those typically just scalpers jumping the gun when they actually do not have tickets themselves yet? I don't know if that is something to actually go by.

Yeah usually, but the official broker sites like Vivid, Ticket Liquidator, StubHub, etc. have protection so the tickets are guaranteed. I'd probably wait, but was just throwin' it out there haha.

Tix go on sale Friday but there will be a presale beginning tomorrow. I don't know about other venues but the NY show will range from $55-$125, most likely before fees.

Ah, that's interesting. Whatever happens I don't think I'll ever get to the point where I'll not want new Morrissey records, so in that respect I'm pleased if he's worked something out with somebody. I mean, they must be crazy, but still...

Also interesting that he's taken to using Facebook for official messages. The last time I checked True To You was the main source for direct info. I wonder what changed there?

I've remained a passionate fan for many years, defending him when others have denounced him, but I can't help feel that a line has been crossed recently. I look forward to hearing more great songs, which I don't doubt he is capable of producing, but I won't be supporting him in the same way I have before. This isn't the politics thread, so I won't get carried away, but I'll just refer to Tony's post above and leave it at that.

It's just my opinion, but I do think it's a bit ironic you're judging him for being judgmental.

We certainly don't need to agree with everyone, but it seems to me if we all want tolerance and even acceptance, we need to practice tolerance and even acceptance.
