I had no idea there was even a new album. Grabbing this the second I get home, the amount of praise has me excited.
One thing, though. Silly, but how do you pronounce their name? I've never known for sure.

i've always pronounced it au-tek-re/curr, but i've heard au-teh-curr before, too.

It's a hard 'ch' sound, whether you emphasize the first or second syllable. Like 'awe tek err'.
botley is saying it the most widely used way although the band themselves have said that it's open to interpretation.
Thanks guys. I've been pronouncing it "AW-teh-kur" forever, guess I'll stick with that.
This album is really good.
It's important to note that it's pronounced in a Rochdale accent. If you don't know what a Rochdale accent is, you are not allowed to say the name, sorry.
This album is seriously mind-bendingly good. It's worth noting that I haven't listened to Autechre since LP5, so it's been some time. I've never heard anything quite like this before, and the quality is diamond-like. I'm really, really impressed. Probably on my fourth or fifth listen and I'm completely blown away more and more as I hear it. It's so alien, as if I'm listening to an audio version of the Arecibo message.

I would say I am a pretty big Autechre fan, I like all there albums. For whatever reason on the first couple times through I felt this new one was kind of impenetrable, but I have been listening pretty much non-stop and it is finally really clicking with me. And agree with most the comments that it is among their best. What they do on every album is so different and different from other music in general sometimes it takes me a while to break through, but when you do it is very rewarding.
finally got around to listening today...at first i wasn't getting into it, but as i progressed further into the album, i found myself transfixed.
so far, my two favourites are "bladelores" and "1 1 is" (though the latter was challenging to listen to because of the phasing...maybe that's why i liked it so much? i enjoy challenging music.)
Yeah, those two tracks are something else. The end of "1 1 is" especially is nuts. I can't believe it exists. My personal favorite is "inrite (get 0)" for reasons I can't really articulate right now... Sometime I'll try to put it into words. "YJY UX" is a hell of a way to close it.
I've been finally pulling myself away from Exai and listening to more of the back catalog. I forgot how much I loved Tri Repetae. I'm jumping around a lot, but the big things that won't leave my headphones are Untilted and Oversteps.
How have I been missing out on Autechre? Everything I'm hearing is fucking brilliant. I even dreamed about them last night, no joke.
So what's with that image and the countdown on www.autechre.ws, I wonder? Please be tour dates. Probably a broadcast though.

Exai is brilliant stuff as is to be expected from Autechre. Not sure how I'd rank it overall though. Not enjoying it quite as much as Confield, Quaristice or Oversteps, but it's still one of the better Autechre albums.

Started 20 minutes ago. Tune in!
whatever song they're spinning right now is ridiculously awesome. If anyone knows what this is please tell me
fuck yeah, that's it. Awesome. Kudos to your psychic abilities
This is a fucking incredible mix.
Both mixes fucking owned my soul. Made a few friends in the Mixlr chat, too! It's like back in the day when NIN would release things and I'd care.
ummmm.... so this track just came out of nowhere... and by that, I mean, Richard Devine just posted it on facebook...
in other news, it's amazing

Confield finally clicked for me. Man, I can't remember the last time music has made me weak in the knees like that.

No shit, I love the track Pen Expers off that one.....
New ep, October 29th!!
http://autechre.ws/l-event-ep/
This EP is fucking awesome.
and with that, Autechre wins 2013
L-event is MASSIVE. It + "Byproduct 2.b" + a few of Exai's strongest tracks compiled would probably be my AOTY.
Y'all hear the new track yet?
