yeah yeah, that's cool and everything. But I have literally no use for a CD in 2019.
Hmmm.. looks like Maynard talking about the number 7 and the new album could relate to:

hmmmm...Something like this? https://www.redpaperplane.com/creati...er-reveal.html
Praying the vinyl isn't insanely priced...it's going to be, isn't it.
I’m hoping for four tiers
Digital Release (possible limited edition or preorder edition).
Barebones physical release I can afford.
Deluxe physical release I can’t afford.
Deluxe vinyl set I can’t afford.

Basically what I’m thinking. As a vinyl collector that does have standards when it comes to money I spend and what I spend it on, I hope that the vinyl release isn’t too far out of my budget.
Fingers crossed. I easily didn’t pay $90 for the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood sndk but waited for the normal vinyl release at 40. Would I pay 90 for TOOL.....yes? I think so?

I'll buy the vinyl, but there's no way it's going to be ready before Aug. 30... I'm betting on standard digital/CD releases around release day, then more deluxe versions to start shipping for Christmastime.
Yeah as I stated a few pages back, I can't recall a time within the last like 1-2 years that I've preordered an album and received it on release day...just assumed that was the accepted norm now.
Amazon doesn’t post things out earlier for arrival on release day anymore?
Oh they might for sure, but I've never got a record day-of. Video games, blu rays, etc. sure...could just be shit luck lol.
Port of Sound in Costa Mesa, CA., has the CD bundle available for preorder again at the time of this post. I am still going to hold off however.
Edit: 404ing now. If that's a small business shop, I bet they said, "Fuck this nonsense!" and just removed the listing. lol...

I think NIN’s NTAE CD came a day before the release was supposed to happen... via Amazon? But yeah, doesn’t it make more sense to just send go to Best Buy the day of pick it up? Will probably call my local record store to see if they may have solid info.
Best Buy stores still carry CDs? Their website doesn't.
I’d have to check the BB by my house again, but last time I was there (earlier in the year) they still did.
EDIT: do record stores still have “midnight release parties”? Last time I was at one of them was for The Fragile lol.
None of the Canadian stores do anymore...hell, even the gaming/blu ray section in the few Vancouver locations is paltry. Sunrise Records is the place to go, but with Amazon/online...even that is the secondary option.
I’m a broken record on this but I think the digital rights held up any new material more than anything else. I think at first there was an opposition to splitting up track orders—I remember Danny talking about that in 2006. But that was still pretty common back then. The Led Zeppelin remasters and The Mars Volta did similar things.
But you’re totally right. I’m glad they stuck to their guns.

Not gunna bitch around the bush about it...but...if this new album...after 13 fucking years...has a 5+ minute track like Viginti Tres...I WILL be a little annoyed.
Moving on.![]()
So I'm not getting any sex tomorrow (hump day), but this will be THE FIRST GLIMPSE INTO THE NEW ALBUM'S SOUND, heard through a brand new song at that.
I'll allow it.
Also, that RADIO.COM picture is so cheesy, even for Tool. God... lol
