At least there's now a Japan/Australian/NZ tour to look forward to. Also, a great JC quote from this interview:

As for the setlist, both Jones and Chancellor remained tight-lipped about what fans can expect to hear come May, however they did teasingly divulge that the band is still “still in negotiations” about whether they will play songs, from their hotly rumoured new album.
Just checking out M.T.Void. Enjoying. Good to hear Justin singing.
Awesome. Might have to go to Auckland
Negotiations about playing songs that don't exist
lol, APC and Puscifer at the end of this month then Tool in May. Maynard must like it here.
So to recap the last several pages (without being responsible and actually reading them):
There definitely will or will not be a new Tool album this year. Those selfish fucking wankers are taking too long, and they'll lose their fans because of it. I can't wait to pay whatever they ask for the album or tickets as soon as they'll take my money!
See you next year, folks
somebody has this CD? Ryan maybe? i'd love to hear those tracks...
Skipping the Melbourne show this time around. Have seen this show twice already, and $135 is a bit rich for the possibility of a couple of new songs. Hopefully a new album and a genuine new tour next year.
I wonder how many Tool fans puckered up their buttholes to Carey stating they had enough live stuff recorded for a live album and 2 LIVE DVDs. haha
The amount of shit that this band spits into the media is baffling. Oh and don't forget the interview about Puscifer where Maynard said he was in the middle of writing an autobiography.

Speaking of recording, is there an end in sight for the Tool and A Perfect Circle records you're working on?
No idea. Basically right now it's a lot of ideas. Jamming. There's no actual songs for either project. It's still kind of noodles in a big basket.
I don't want a new Tool album anymore.
Me either and I'm over Tool, but I bought a GA standing ticket for the Sydney show in May.
Limited edition re-release of opiate coming.
TOOL will release a handcrafted, bonus-laden, limited edition package of their original debut EP, Opiate, on Mar. 26 to mark the 21st anniversary of the six-song release.
The anniversary edition is limited to 5,000 copies and features art direction by Adam Jones, illustrations by legendary artist Adi Granov and design packaging by Mackie Osborne, who has collaborated with TOOL on many albums including 10,000 Days, Lateralus and Salival as well as posters and merchandise.
The 5,000 copies will be broken down as 5 x 1,000 runs with each set featuring a variation of the exterior graphics and included bonus items which include a new stereoscopic image for fans to use with their glasses from the 10,000 Days packaging.
The packages will only be available via TOOL's website (www.toolband.com) on Mar. 26 and there will be no pre-orders. A limit of three packages from each of the 5 x 1,000 versions will be in place. More details to be announced soon.
I was going to post with a joke, but you all beat me to it.
Jesus this is a fucking busy music morning, and I still have yet to go to work.
Screw your Hot Topic Manson vinyls: THAT's a reissue I want my mitts on!
Soooo new artwork? no new tracks? no more live tracks? lame.
Good point. A recording of the entire Jello Loft show would have have been cool as a bonus. I wonder why they don't do that.
Also, image:
BLeh... thanks but no thanks.
it's not like they have an enormous archive of Opiate-era stuff to put out. what could they include? the demo? the Jello Loft new year's show? there aren't any leftover songs, since we already got "Maynard's Dick" (har har).
dunno if i'll buy it, depends on the price. i'd be more excited if they did the same with the full albums too.
I wouldn't count out extra tracks just yet. We don't really know much of anything about the release yet. What would be the point of a re-release if there was no extra tracks or remastering? Unfortunately I doubt we'll know anything about it until it goes on sale 3/26. Sigh.
So, I assume it won't be remastered?
Does anyone know where I can find these? Only full-sized and not with my desktop shit on it.
