man, that extended guitar intro on TDTWWA on the fragile vinyl is nice. nothing groundbreaking but made this song seem fresh again
loving rediscovering this album thanks to @dJason
I'm sure now that I've done this, the super deluxe edition will come out any day now….
I might be wrong, but I suppose after years of touring with Pumpkins and David Bowie (especially during 96-97, supporting very electronic Outside and Earthling albums and without extra keyboard personnel in the band) he can play any synth patch you need, not only piano.
His addition of regular piano to The Becoming is very interesting, especially during the "Annie hold a little tighter" part. What was a dark and brooding song becomes beautiful for a few seconds, almost as if the character in TDS has an inkling of hope before descending back into madness.
10 years ago, today (September 9th), Trent announced the closing of Nothing Studios. This is how ETS reacted to it:

Announcement of the Closure DVD right under it.
Good times.
I really like the description of The Line Begins to Blur in the first one of those updates "The latter's structure was changed several times to no avail -it's slow and brutal and heavy and blew up the genelecs. oh well. i'm sure i'll be hearing that one again tomorrow (on different speakers)."
Who was writing these updates? Rob?
Glad I'm not the only one who recognized the back of Trent's head in that Gwen Stefani Instagram.
They're announcing that the new iPhone is thinner than the old one. Black-polo-neck-wearing population of the planet collectively jizzes.
^Makes me think of all that could have been...if NIN would have played the VMAs with the pic of George W Bush behind them...
Once again, Ally rules IG.
Goddamn, that's such a great performance of The Fragile. I was lucky to see it in Austin 09, I believe it was not performed that much during NINJA.
Even though I became a fan after that touring era had finished, seeing Danny Lohner scream into the microphone made me feel nostalgic. It's great to see artists giving it their all during a show, even if it's only one song. The video made me want to listen to Still again, to hear that version of The Fragile, haven't listened to it in a while
It's been a while since I've done this, but I want to unwind to Closure on any given Friday night or Saturday night again. I've missed doing that.![]()
I'm listening to Things Falling Apart again and realized that the Tension tour totally missed the opportunity to do The Great Collapse, considering they had the female vocalists. That right after The Wretched could've been fantastic.
