Awesome a UK date has been announced. dont take Reading too seriously its a music festival for suburban 16 year olds.
I think evrn Biffy Clyro probably feel bad about playing above NIN but festival needs to sel tickets and in order to do that they got to appeal to the kids. I would rather he played bestival week later but Reading offer a serious shitload of money. innocent biffy kids will be blown away!

QoTSA supported NIN, Biffy Clyro supported QoTSA, and now NIN are supporting* Biffy Clyro. They rose up the ranks a bit.

    *In the loosest sense, ok?

Sad fact is NIN have never headlined an English festival (to the best of my knowledge), Biffy are massive at the moment.

Everyone is missing the big picture here. Last time NIN played Reading/Leeds, they played after lostprophets and the end result was Ilan Rubin in the band.

This time around they're playing after Fall Out Boy. See you later Avery, next time we're having PETE FUCKING WENTZ.

Zane Lowe's presenting at the moment, so that makes sense.

NIN headlined a festival at Docklands in 2000, the one that was famously blamed on Jerome having the shits when they had to cancel. I forget what it was called now...The Lost Weekend?

    Twenty and constantly repulsed.
I really don't want to go to Reading but I don't think I have enough self-control to be in the UK and not go. It's already killing me not seeing QOTSA at Download...

I still haven't listened to any Biffy Clyro. I might have heard one of their songs at one point, but looking them up, I have no real motivation to check them out, they just don't sound that interesting.

What backwards part of the country are you in? Ireland's full of NIN/Bowie fans.

Pray for sideshows. They can't just loiter around Europe between these weekend festivals.

    I'm afraid this'll not happen.
For gigs at venues you have to transport your own PA and mixing board etc etc . For festivals you don't, just 'plug & play', that's it.
Planning a few venue gigs in between, wouldn't be smart.

Feel like us Yanks have dodged a bullet with the fact that Biffy Clyro have not caught on here. Then again, I think there's only a handful of festivals here that NIN would actually headline. On the Wave Goodbye tour, they weren't even headlining Bonnaroo at that point.

I just hope some of these festival dates are broadcast on television or the radio (and someone records & shares them).

Is Trent's interview later tonight? I don't think I could stomach listening to Zane Lowe for more than ten seconds.

So they'll be hanging around in hotels for 4/5 days in between shows? That sounds very uneconomic too.

Oh god, that's hilarious. A fucking county is not comparable to some twatty little middle class town in Berkshire.

Translation: In the Fall Nine Inch Nails will be playing the Marina Del Ray and....Illinois somewhere.

I'm not really bothered by this as I think this is just a 'remind the world they exist' thing at festivals (where they get paid to play and perhaps pick up new followers) followed by a proper world tour in 2014 (which I'm sure was promised in the announcement in the first place)

The majority of European festivals seemed to have some form of live streaming last year, so it will probably be the same this year. The problem is that sometimes the stream isn't announced until about six hours before the set.
