Cold Cave tomorrow.
Cold Cave tomorrow.
Filter tonight at the 02 Islington Academy before going to work! Woot! Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaar!
caught MetallicA over the weekend, they still got it!
Filter were fantastic. Audience were a little subdued though and a bit weird opening with Welcome to the Fold.
RP crowdsurfed to the bar and back and had lots of warm words for NIN fans and Trent!
Mudhoney at Lee's Palace on Monday night!
I posted this elsewhere but was told this thread was more appropriate...
Anyone seeing Katatonia in Chicago on October 3rd? I'm looking for someone to go with.
Never been to see them and am a bit leery of being w/a ton of metalheads (as I am not one).. And that's NOT an insult.
Also now looking, as well, for someone to go with to see Filter 10/22 at HOB (with RED).
Maybe no one reads this tread anymore.

Buddy Guy, or as I like to call him, The Fountain of Youth. 77 years old, and in the middle of his set he went all the way up the middle aisle to the cheap seats and played guitar and sang for just about 10 minutes. It was a short-ish show (1 hour 50 minutes) but he brought the house down. Speaking of youth, his opener, 14-year old Quinn Sullivan got the people jolted up real good too.
30 Seconds To Mars today in New Jersey!! I know they have been playing a lot of their newer stuff, but I am still psyched to finally seeing them after all of these years.
Saw FIDLAR last night. Show was so crazy the lead singer kicked me in the head and broke my glasses.
Joe Satriani this week. Yes please.
Child Bite and We Are Hex two days ago.
Golden Torso and The Armed last night.
im fucking dead, mang.
This month:
- Alice in chains
- Kashmir
- Corona fest (Queens of the Stone Age / Sigur Ros / The Breeders, etc...)
- Black Sabbath
saw death in june two weeks ago, rather good if but repetitive. saw the legendary pink dots last friday... amazing show... really psychedelic and electronic.
tonight, i'm catching the massive attack v. adam curtis show (WITH LIZ FRASER!!!!!!). then some NIN in canada, the new york area shows, godflesh, simple minds, gary numan, etc. busy times.
Arctic Monkeys at a small club a couple of weeks ago. Thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Saw Cult of Luna last night. I've been wanting to see these guys for almost 7 years and it was their first tour of the US since 2005. I couldn't have been more pleased. After reading several less than favorable reviews of their US live shows, I was glad to see those reviews were unjust. I'm not into post-metal too much anymore, but I had a great time listening to a band that I obsessed over in my early 20s.
Next up - Godflesh! And then 65daysofstatic.
I'm just curious about the timing of the way people purchase concert tickets in general. Do you prefer to buy tickets months in advance, or even go as far as taking advantage of presales? Or would you rather wait until less than a month before the concert to purchase tickets? I never understood the reasoning for the latter though, as I start getting anxious when I'm buying tickets even 1 month away from the concert. A good 2 to 5+ months seems reasonable to me.
In other words, are there people that actually prefer to purchase concert tickets in the last minute? I still don't get that.

I have to, because of work. Pretty much every time I've bought a ticket in advance over the last few years I've ended up not being able to go and try to get rid of it at the last minute.
I just bought my NIN ticket for the Barclays show two days ago, and I'm still nervous I'm not going to be able to make it. Ah, well.
It's a good thing that you actually got it though. That shit would've had me freaking out.![]()
That's true, I've almost forgot about how much higher NIN tickets have gotten.
Sigur Rós November 24th.
Neutral Milk Hotel
02.08.14/Madison, WI
I'm totally missing Chris Cornell in San Diego tonight.Oh well. I'm gearing for NIN in Los Angeles.
Neutral Milk Hotel tonight!
Saw Filter Friday night in Indy...I thought they were good. The crowd was horrible, there were only about 3-400 people there. Saw Sigur Ros earlier in September, fantastic show...definitely go if you can.
Going to see Kendrick/Kanye West in Columbus next month...I cannot wait.
Fuck Buttons tonight, GY!BE and some band named Nine Inch Nails tomorrow.
