Spending Cinco de Mayo with The Black Keys. Gonna be great! Got my tickets for both shows. Bring on May!
I have been listening to the black keys progress throughout the years and i just love it. I cannot stand when groups just stick to the same formula, even though it really works for some, it makes their career stale and one sided.
The Blue Keys?
El Camino was a lot better on my first dozen of listens, but the songs got really old fast for me. I replay Brothers a whole lot I have noticed along with Attack & Release.
I don't care much for Brothers. It was good, but I can take it or leave it.
The shows this weekend were fantastic! I want to go to more.

Nobody sweats like Patrick Carney, nobody.
This is wildly appropriate, even if this post was nearly two goddamn years ago, Dr. Pepper, you're behind this, aren't you?

New song is out, it rules

I love the hype people are putting behind this single. "The first new music since 2011!" Oh, December 2011 to March 2014. what a HUUUGE drought. :P
That said, it's pretty good! Doesn't hook me as well as "Lonely Boy" did, but I'll probably be getting this one. I'll wait until the inevitable one or two song premieres and album stream preview to know for sure.
Cross posting from the happy thread. IDGAF.
I just won tickets for The Black Keys Live on Letterman tomorrow night. Which I believe is a NIN on Kimmel type of deal.
FUCK YES
Saw them a few years ago--good show. Looking forward to the new CD.
I've seen them before as well. Taking my buddy who is a big fan but has never seen them..
New album kinda sucks. I like the first three songs, but I was bored through it. I think they need to pull the plug with Danger Mouse already.
Doesn't sound like the new album is anything great, I haven't had the chance to listen yet. I do like the singles, but regardless they aren't anything groundbreaking. I found it real interesting how at their headlining slot at Hangout Festival with a 20 song set only 3 were off Turn Blue, maybe deep down they know the new album isn't anything good either, setlist: http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-bl...-43c34b2f.html
At that Letterman show, Dan totally pulled a Trent and fucked up "Tighten Up"... which I think is their most well known song.
The new album has some songs that I think are some of their best work... but seems like they just stayed in their comfort zone here. It beats the hell out of "El Camino" which I found to be lackluster and boring. They will never top Attack & Release in my opinion.
I like Turn Blue. Maybe it's not the 4.5/5 album that Rolling Stone says it is--but it's good.
Giving their new album Let's Rock a listen, it's very good. Nothing revolutionary, but if you liked their past work you should dig this too.
I feel like I dont need any more music from this band. I love their old output, and im good with that. Calling this album "Lets Rock" isnt helping. I did read that they claim its a return to how they used to do things though.
Digging the new album. Kinda has a 70s vibe to my ears.
I like this song. Sounds like it could be in a Tarantino movie:
