Can't blame them for trying, they deserve a second chance because they are very talented guys, but very few bands survive the death of their lead singer...

New interview.
Yeah but didn't they try that almost 20 years ago as Talk Show?
They should just be Stone Temple Pilots featuring (insert new singer here) like they were with Chester.
Good luck to them. Not crazy about getting some unknown, via the Internet. If they insist on using the name, at least go with an established singer, imho.
And Scott Stapp is now claiming he might be STP's new singer but the band denies it: http://www.avclub.com/article/scott-...ew-sing-236152
If that were to happen, STP would be dead to me. Then again, it kinda is now.

I would rather have Beavis or some unknown than that fuckin' turd.

I remember some years ago in an interview, Stapp feels proud that about the state of rock claiming he and his band influenced so much when the reality was that Crud nor any of those bands they supposedly influenced were original to begin with. In fact, I still believe that rock music hasn't changed very much at all in the past 20-25 years. And yes, I hate Crud, Nickelturd, & 3 Dull Dudes did as they just created watered-down post-grunge for the masses and made music sound safe. Ugh.... Plus, I hate it when some people tag STP as a post-grunge band which is bullshit as I thought of them as just a straight-ahead rock n' roll band.

They had grunge characteristics at the beginning. That's about it.
he's singing for Art of Anarchy...whatever that is. Has one of Axl's GnR scab guitarists, and a dude from Disturbed. SOUNDS AWESOME!
LMAO. Scott Stapp and STP are perfect for each other.
In that they are both spotlight whoring, past their "prime", "90s icons".
STP are rumored to have found their new singer.

The singer, John Borja, sounds good, just like Scott, in fact. He would be perfect for an STP tribute band, but I don't know about him fronting the actual STP. I'm not crazy about Linkin Park, but at least Bennington tried to put his own stamp on the band, same with DuVall in AIC. This is just weird.
except for how Chester weirdly acted & danced like Weiland on-stage, for no apparent reason that makes any sense to me other than to...what? Make people feel comfortable like this is the STP they've known? To fool people? Odd and made me uncomfortable, and I'm not even an STP fan.
6:56 in is good example:
and pretty much this whole show:
I can't watch those clips. I don't like Chester at all and this is just bad. STP should just call it quits and do something else. The band is dead. They can put in another person but it won't be the same.
I like Chester, and I like LP. And his singing is pretty solid. But the stage antics are super off-putting.
Yeah, Chester did try to mimic Scott, to some extent.
Agree that they should retire the name at this point.
Is Dave Coutts doing anything right now?
R.I.P. Scott Weiland. It's been one year.
