ACDC Live (1992) is fucking awesome, and pretty much negates the need for individual ACDC albums. If the searing opening version of Thunderstruck doesn't get your clit hard you're dead inside.

Front 242 - Off & Up Evil - companion albums

Also, I don't agree at all with you guys about The White Album. I didn't know that people disliked Why Don't We Do It in the Road or Yer Blues, and Revolution #9 is awesome. I also never understood the hatred for Wild Honey Pie. It's a minute long!

Can't stand 'Why don't we do it in the road'. However, I was going to say it was repetitive nonsense, and then big up Revolution #9, which is a bit of a contradiction, but that's me for ya! Piggies is a good song imo. Blackbird, Rocky Racoon, I'm So Tired, love them all!

I consider everything post Californication to be complete rubbish by the RHCP. It's cringworthy these days watching them. Sorry just my opinion.

Stadium Arcadium has maybe 5 -6 pretty good songs, but for me, they've released nothing else worthy of the name since One Hot Minute.

If held at gunpoint and forced to cut three songs from The Fragile (I know this seems like an unlikely scenario) - Pilgrimage, The Way Out Is Through and Starfuckers for me.

One Hot Minute is my favorite...and they don't play anything off of it live.

I think it was perceived as being a train wreck at the time. God knows why, I think it rocks, and has some great mellower stuff on there too. Navarro was a good fit.

oh, man...those first two are two of my favorites! the way out is through achieves that perfect balance of beautiful and brutal, and the first time i listened to it, i remember literally jumping because i did not expect it to get that loud.

As far as filler on the fragile, and having to cut one or two, I would cut No You Don't, and MAYBE TDTWWWA.

Best Double cd's for me are

David Bowie-Best of Bowie (i know you said no compilations, but i played it till BOTH tapes broke and then bought the CDs.)

Outkast-Speakerboxxx/The Love Below (ESPECIALLY the love below, although i believe that this was a Big Boi album and an Andre album packaged together....not a double album,)

My favorite double album of the 2000's was Eels Blinking Lights and Other Revelations

Amazing album. Never thought E would top Electro Shock Blues but he somehow he did.

I've been listening to Hurry Up, We're Dreaming by M83 a lot lately.

Generally I dislike double albums. It's too much material to properly digest in one sitting and they tend to be burdened with a lot of filler and/or mediocre songs.

I read (or heard, can't remember) an interview with Trent recently where he was reflecting on "The Fragile". My memory is a bit hazy but I'm almost positive he said that in retrospect he probably should have released it as two separate albums.

The Walkabouts - Drunken Soundtracks

It's a two-disc collection of B-sides and covers from a band, continually ignored by everyone, from what's generally considered to be their weakest period. I don't know how this could've possibly worked enough to include it here but it does! I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to check this one out. Gorgeous!

I think it's completely insane that no one but you has mentioned Baroness - Yellow and Green. I found out about those guys when they opened to Meshuggah last year, they were so good. I'm usually not extremely interested in opening bands, but these guys caught my attention right away. I would call that album the Kid A of Metal (a metal album turning wide left).
