Consider my nerd boner at full mast.
So I only just realized that a certain someone's wedding from the third book isn't actually in the third season.
So glad I haven't watched the third season yet. Pretty much the only thing I wanted to see.
Don't put your Coldhands on @Mr. Blaileen's nerd boner.
Watching 'Histories and Lore' bonus features on the new season three box set and House Bolton's narrative is so fucking creepy.

George R.R. Martin Wants to End Game of Thrones on the Big Screen
"It all depends on how long the main series runs. Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for 10? The books get bigger and bigger (in scope). It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know."

Interesting news...
I also read an article about how the producers were planning to end the series around the 7th or 8th season.
Season 1 = Book 1
Season 2 = Book 2
Season 3 = 2/3 of beginning of Book 3
Season 4 = Last 1/3 of Book 3 plus beginning of Books 4/5
Speculation from here on out...
Season 5 & 6 = I'm guessing would be Books 4 & 5 combined, can they cram that much into only a single season?
Season 7 = Book 6
Season 8 = Book 7
(Though Books 6 & 7 are to each be VERY long, so would it be 2 seasons per book?)

Benioff and Weiss have been pretty clear that they envision the show running seven seasons.
Saw the season premiere last night.... good stuff.
Saw the premiere yesterday (HBO partner event). Really, really good, and Spoiler: holy shit is Arya Stark creepy when she kills Poliver with Needle.
