I'll be very interested in seeing how well this charts. The "Perfect Life" video has over a quarter million views on YouTube. To put that in perspective, his older videos are close but haven't reached a million hits yet.

Sounds "in character", though... i was quite surprised when i head the podcast that they allowed the download function, now i see that that wasn't "supposed to happen".
I'm surprised too that the album hasn't leaked at this point, if i remember correctly "The Raven that Refused to Sing", leaked like 2 months before it's official release, probably Steven is aware of this and it's "guarding" his music extra carefully, i understand him and at the same time it shows the control freak he is (not an insult, just an observation).
It's his Wish You Were Here, an accolade I do not easily give.
Normally I feel really guilty listening to a leak, but I figured since I already bought the album in three formats and the release is next week, why not.
With that said, holy smokes. The first listen left me speechless. This album is beautiful.
Home. Fucking. Run.
On about my fifth listen now. I don't want to spoil anything for those that haven't heard it yet, but I need to mention that Adam and Guthrie fucking kill on this album. They were phenomenal on TRTRTS, but this takes things to a whole new level.
He makes it look so "easy"...
I'm glad most are really liking the new album. If anybody deserves an album to blow the fuck up, it's Steven Wilson.
Just got the email from Burning Shed that my deluxe edition has shipped. I can hardly contain myself right now! I can't wait to wallpaper my town with tour posters.
I got one too. Can't wait
The deluxe editions have all sold out. If you wanted one, you're going to regret not getting one when they were available as they go for an absurd amount on ebay. Fortunately, if you wanted the extra studio material, it all appears to be on the regular Blu-ray.
EDIT: I am incorrect. The deluxe edition has a bonus CD that includes all the album demos, including one that did not make the final album. The Blu-ray does not include these same demos, though it does include alternate studio takes of some of the songs on the main album.

If the deluxe edition of the last album is any indication the "demos" are basically just alternate versions that the band recorded, not SW's actual demos he brought to the band. He did that with Grace for Drowning and they weren't as interesting, basically him playing everything over a programmed drum track.
some of them were, though – there's a nice intro to "Sectarian" that was cut, for example. same with the few bars toward the end of "Luminol" that were cut. i like those types of alternate arrangements, but yeah, if it's the exact arrangement with programmed drums and a crappier mix (or no solos, like "Raider"), there's hardly a point for me to listen more than once.
"First Regret/3 Years Older" from an official source.
Wait... What!? Losing my shit! Again!
Ok, I've got a deluxe edition and two fucking blu-rays coming (I have friends), so fucking sue me. I grabbed the album online. I've been binging on it (mind you I have a job) for several days.
This is beyond myself as a fan of Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson. This is the greatest fucking concept album that I have heard in many years. It's just fucking incredible. It's a movie in sound. The concept kicks me right in the balls. It hits so close to home, I can only describe it in a way that brings me to a whole new profound respect for Steven Wilson as an artist. Whoever those fucks are out there that decides this or that person is worthy or should be recognized for a a stupid reward, well, I'm saying right now that Steven Wilson should be rewarded. And not just some goddamned prog award. This album is fucking incredible. FUCKING INCREDIBLE.
that is all....
Just when I though my man-crush on Steven couldn't get any worse...
I've had the album on almost constant repeat for the last five days or so. I seriously cannot. Get. Enough. I've loved all of his solo work so far, but this is something from an entirely different fucking universe. There are some truly awe-inspiring moments on this album that have brought me to tears. Even though it's only February, I think it's safe to say that this is my "album of the year", without question.
OK, got my copy in my hands... (photo)

did most everyone who has their copy already order from burning shed? what was the time differential between receiving the shipping notification e-mail and receiving the item? i got my e-mail a couple days ago and i'm waiting with baited breath for it to arrive!!!
I got my email Monday, hoping it'll be here either today or tomorrow. I ordered Get All You Deserve from them, and it came the Saturday before the US release date too.
I've not received my shipment from Burning Shed yet. But it shipped on Monday. I had a larger shipment than most. I make arrangements to have multiple items shipped together to avoid extra fees, but you have to email them about it and work it out. They're pretty awesome people, those Burning Shed cats.
"Home Invasion/Regret #9" may be my favorite piece of music that Wilson has ever released. That's some serious kill me dead and reanimate my corpse shit right there. The funky cynical jive that transitions into one of the most mind-blowing moog to guitar solo transitions I've heard in years.
Noticed Steven Wilson is playing Cardiff on the 13th and bought a ticket to go on my own. I don't actually know any of his stuff but I listened to a soundcloud song from the latest album and liked what I heard, I like some prog music generally so I'm looking forward to going to a gig and just letting the music wash over me without worrying about any socialising aspect
