FREE EVERYTHING. I think paid DLC for fighting games is asinine especially when more fighters are involved. I'm looking at you Mortal Kombat (which I bought a character or two) and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.
new PS3 model..

may pick one up as I skipped out on the Slim, but my old 60GB launch model is noisy and has been repaired twice... I just don't trust it to last much longer..
The makers of the excellent Witcher RPG series have announced their next title, "Cyberpunk: 2077".
Official site.
I of course LOVE the genre, their influences are spot on, and I fuckin' love the 80's Blade Runner meets Drive kinda feel of the look they're going with.
The latest Humble Bundle is from THQ (yes, the now broke THQ) and it's actually pretty great. For whatever you want to pay:
Darksiders
Metro: 2033
Red Faction: Armageddon
3 Company of Heroes titles
Saints Row The Third (if you pay more than the avg.)
Not bad at all...
Woah, that looks pretty cool. And that song is good, too...
I love the release date mention.... 'when it's ready'. Awesome to see a dev spit in the face of the expected social media whining of 'BOOHOO GIVE US A RELEASE DATE BOOHOO.'
I WAS wondering, gracias.
As long as they aren't forced to release the game by a certain date.
More information about the new Xbox... from a source that says he has one.
If anyone remembers last summer, at E3 they showed a game called Watch Dogs that looked fantastic. Well, it looks like it's dropping this year!
G4 calling it 'a truly next-gen adventure'. Cannot wait.
New MMO 'Defiance' drops next month.
I've definitely heard of the show that's coming, but not of this tie-in game. Pretty cool that in post production of the show, they're going to tie in things that happened in the game prior (mentioning real life players in the show, etc.) but I'm not sure... MMO's don't do so well on consoles and to be honest, I again haven't even heard of this game before this morning. Still, it looks pretty cool in a Borderlands-ish kinda way.
Disney has permanently shut down LucasArts, laid off its entire staff, and cancelled all current projects, including Star Wars: 1313
I was looking forward to that game too, these guys are ruthless.

No way.... Star Wars 1313 was a big deal. The game has to get shopped out, since it was so far in production and the hype behind it was pretty substantial. Or maybe Disney thought it was too dark and violent?
Either way, chalk this up to the first real casualty of Disney's acquisition of Star Wars.

I'd say losing 1313 is the only casualty, and even then, I'm not sure how bad that is for us. Who knows how good that game really would have been? LucasArts' recent track record left me very cautious. To be honest, as much as I loved LucasArts, the company whose games I loved and grew up with (The Dig! Full Throttle! Dark Forces!) is not the same company that's existed for the last ten years. When it comes to nostalgia and what that brand and old logo meant to me, I'm sad. But that's as far as those emotions go.

Dunno how reliable this is but if taken in conjunction with other articles on the subject, it looks like Disney will still be focussing on Star Wars games, they just want to change the way the company works.
So basically they're laying off however many people to 'reshape' the way they work on Star Wars games. Makes sense.
I love when giant corporations raking in billions and billions of dollars (enough to buy up an entire IP to the tune of $4bn) do this. I guess LucasArts isn't profitable enough for them? Maybe the payroll is just a little too cushy and they want to lay everybody off so that they have a dedicated team of newly-recruited slaves at a lower pay rate on whom they can pawn shitty working hours/conditions?
I don't get it. I really don't. They've had the company under their belt for a few months, what on earth sounds logical to them about making an entire team redundant to bring in new talent? Ugh.
Edit: '[T]he studio will be handing game development to third party developers'. WOW. That's just... WOW. Way to be shitty, Disney. Too bad you didn't already have a development team of your own! OH WAIT!
Funny how they're saying this move will allow them to increase the quality of their games..........BY DELEGATING THE WORK TO ANOTHER DEVELOPMENT TEAM.

Raising my Piss-Me-Off-O-Meter an extra level...it was just revealed that before scrapping Star Wars: 1313 altogether, the team had quietly (at the request of Lucas of course) shifted the game to center around Boba Fett.
HOW SICK WOULD THIS GAME HAVE BEEN. Fuckssakes...
