Everyone in chat last night seemed pretty chill about it.

Chat got pretty weird for a bit though.

some of us are friends outside of ETS and talk about regular shit via facebook or whatever. That's why me and Fixer seem extra weird with each other sometimes, because we live like 20 minutes apart and hangout sometimes.

Ahh right. That makes more sense... I thought there was an ETS IRC channel or something I was missing out on.

Also, @Ryan - lol at that link. "Come on man, let me stick my penis in your butt"

There was, way back on old ETS, but it died out years ago and everyone kind of decided it was more convenient to be friends on facebook.

The good IRC channels always have a tendency to die off.

Ah boo. I missed out and now I'm friendless. Shame. Haha.

I was never really into the ETS IRC anyways, just ended up having the same interests and tastes as some of the regular users here and added them on Skype and Facebook. A lot of the big old ETS chats did happen from random drunk tank posts when someone would post their Skype ID and a bunch of us would add them and we'd all yell at each other all night. It's the way of the road.

Oh no! Get more booze asap!

In disappointing news, I left Tokyo and now I'm in some weird boring city with nothing to do (only for the night). I found an Irish pub and got excited, went in and there was absolutely no one there. Had two drinks and gtfo'd. Many sadness.

The best one ever was when Skype had a month of free "as many video windows as you want". Not all of us had video, but it was a multi-continent, North America first, then Aus, then UK drunk-fest that lasted for like 8 hours of the stupidest, awesomest chat in the history of ETS.

@johnbron spent 90% of the time asleep, snoring right into his mic. Good times!

Holy balls, that would have been incredible! We need to somehow revive this.

Even at the peak of ETS mega-chat days, they weren't really common and rarely very big. People have conflicting schedules and time zones and shit.

But yeah, it would be fucking sweet to do again. Maybe The Queen of Meets could work out an international Skype meet to happen a few weeks from now or something?

At the not so local RSL having a few. I swear I can hear 'A Warm Place' playing here.

Or maybe that's where I am. A warm place.

    Screwdrivers. How 80's of me.

    After one too many JD's.

    Happy birthday uncle C

Ugh, screwdrivers. The only way I can ever drink vodka anymore is White Russians or Caesars, everything else just brings up awful memories of over-indulgence and makes me feel sick from the first sip.

Vodka is basically the only thing I will drink.

Or Fireball. But that shit is dangerous 'cause it goes down like water.

Absolutely cannot drink Fireball ever again. There was an incident, in my 20's. Much vomiting occurred. Know what goes down too easy? Pernod and water. That shit is so smooth, and is 40%, and has fucked me in the liver too many times.

ICE cold water. Gotta be cold. Also lol watersports.

I'm like that with tequila. I cannot even smell it without having to hold back gags.

So, I never drink anymore. And I drank from about 10am yesterday to about 2am this morning. Now, I'm on the bus, heading to work. And I would much rather die.

I think that I'm officially old now.

Ugh! I can't touch Vodka. I got REALLY drunk on the stuff when I was 17 and I haven't been able to go near it since. It just reminds me of vomit too much.

Tequila however is a favouirte of mine although I always seem to be in the minority on that one. There is a great Tequila bar in Liverpool, £1 a shot with a variety of flavours from chilli beef, Irn Bru, lime and even baked bean flavour (can't says I've ever tried that one)

It's a shame as you approach your 30's a night out is a two day recovery period.

Somehow, I am immune to hangovers in the traditional sense. I'm just tired as fuck. I'm going on a little over three hours of sleep. :/ Definitely only going to my first job today. I need a nap.

SoCo is the other one that makes me gag. Uuuugh.

I don't get the headaches but my stomach does the somersaults and I get really dehydrated. The day after is usually a write off for me, I just lounge around in my PJ's all day

    What's SoCo? Southern Comfort?

i was drunk from 1999 to about 2008. started with whiskey, but eventually it became a liter of vodka a day.
several rehabs, hundreds of aa meetings, lost relationships, apartments, etc later, i can't BELIEVE i'm alive.
i still fuck up and drink now and then but i stop in a BIG fucking hurry.
good god i miss it...i wish i COULD drink.
but at least i have me opiates and benzos.

Yeah... I was raised by a single father who was an alcoholic. He went to rehab when I was about 8. So, I was always pretty careful with drinking. I just spent the ages of 13 - 24 doing all of the other, more damaging drugs, though. Excellent logic!

In terms of what I can't drink anymore/had a bad experience with - absinthe. Never again. Just the THOUGHT of having it again makes me feel sick.

The bad experience comes from a big night of drinking followed by 5 straight shots (none of this watering down/melting sugar into/lighting on fire bullshit) of the stuff. I'm feeling sick just thinking of it again.

Anyway, I'm home now and agreed to go for a run tomorrow morning. We're looking at doing around 12-14km. I'm not looking forward to it, but I have run hung over before.
