I agree, and his voice sounds shredded to bits, and he looks like a shaved caveman, but goddammit I won't miss seeing him live again and regret it for the rest of my fucking life

Does anyone think the upcoming year will be pretty much packed with live dates? I'm not sure what to expect. I really want to see this tour, but I'm kinda reluctant to buy a ticket for the show that's almost a year away (the Poland one) only to find out more logistically suitable options later...

Gilmour's voice has aged pretty well to these ears. Roger's voice is the one that's quite shredded. But they can both kind of get away with it, as Pink Floyd never really depended on a lot of vocal gymnastics anyway.

I wouldn't be so sure that it'll be a packed tour. He's only doing four shows in North America.

Roger's voice sounds great. No stage trickery needed!

My remaster of "Amused to Death" and T-Shirt arrived today, let's listen how it sounds tonight.

I bought this on cassette tape back in 1993 I think, and in my memory, there is a bit of similarity in these record pairs:

Amused to Death >> Division Bell (meaning Waters much better than PF, Bell is slightly younger but I remember them together)
Unsound Methods (Recoil) >> Ultra (Depeche Mode) (both 1997)

Similar in the feeling that the core, the most important part, is now with the lone wolf.

Update: Sounds perfect! (CD on headphones, don't have 5.1) Sometimes it's almost like a new mix, e.g. I would not expect completely new (unknown) guitar part.

Rolling Stone interview. He also confirms his touring band lineup. Jon Carin, Guy Pratt, Phil Manzanera, Steve Distanislao all returning, along with Kevin McAlea on keyboards.

I heard that cover of "Here, There, and Everywhere" earlier today. Fuck, it is good. Gilmour definitely nailed the song while adding his own bits to the song in terms of his guitar playing. Makes me want to listen to Revolver all over again which is my favorite Beatles album.

I was just thinking how professional all the PF visuals always were... I could watch that new Gilmour (well, not PF exactly) video muted and immediately think "this must be Pink Floyd". How is that possibble, to keep that for many many years... Or take Dark Side of the Moon cover... this reminds me - I need to put this in another thread. :-)

This guy had uploaded videos from DG's first "preview" show of the tour, in Brighton, on YouTube. But now they're blocked by "Pink Floyd" on copyright grounds. I managed to watch one of the new tunes and it sounded very fine, this record is shaping up to be much more to my tastes than either On An Island or The Endless River. Oh, and Mr. Screen is back!

    Setlist Spoiler:
    First set
5am, Rattle That Lock, Faces of Stone, Wish You Were Here, A Boat Lies Waiting, The Blue, Money, Us and Them, In Any Tongue, High Hopes.
    Second set
Astronomy Domine, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Fat Old Sun, On An Island, The Girl in the Yellow Dress, Today, Sorrow, Run Like Hell.
    Encore
Time / Breathe (reprise), Comfortably Numb

It'll be interesting to see how the set changes by the time I see him in Chicago.

Thanks for the heads-up; the artwork is indeed nice. The versions being posted to AppleMusic appear to be a little larger/better quality.

As was first evidenced by the title track and "Today", it has more punch than On An Island. And the lyrics seem to cut much more straight to the point, especially on "In Any Tongue", probably the most emotional song of them all.

I went to see Roger Waters The Wall Live in theater. I hadn't seen the show before. I never was a big fan of The Wall musically, but I always loved the concept. It was absolutely amazing! It was visually stunning and the sound was great.

    It's really worth it!

Does anyone have a link of the set list to the new Wall live album? I know there's obviously wall tracks. I just wanted to know if he played any other gems like, Set the controls for the heart of the sun.
