Completely forgot about this thread! Foster and once-owned cats:
Two of our three kittens in the house right now (x-post of this pic). I'll take some more pictures later today.
speaking of fostering, Winny and I have fostered two pugs over the last two months and both times they were adopted within a couple of days of us getting them.
First up is Roxy, the puggle we fostered.
and then we fostered Carrie. She was sooooo tiny, about 14lbs, and always wanted to be next to you. We really miss this one.....
That last pug looks to have some serious personality.
I wish I could have a pet again. Too much travel and no real back up. Some day.
Might as well share more pictures of the hound:
And a video of her singing:
gorgeous! i'm hoping to get a greyhound or lurcher in the next few months when life settles down a bit. i can't wait! I've wanted a dog for so long but never really had the time for one.
This year I got my first dog ever. Our landlady wouldn't allow cats in any circumstance but we paid her big $$$ to let us get a small dog. She's pretty cat like anyway.
Sorry but I couldn't resist getting this picture. She's just too cute!
Yes! I was thinking when we got her she was half chihuahua because her hair was so short and greased down (and definitely matted), but after a couple months of us feeding her good food and caring for her properly her coat has probably grown half an inch and puffed up a ton.
It's a fucking show dog with fucking papers. you can't board it, it's hair will fall out.
Sorry, I can't look at a Pomeranian without thinking of The Big Lebowski
It's not so much that the greyhounds' humans are overly protective. It's really the fact that the dogs are so fast that they can't be kept in an open area without a leash. Tying them out in the yard is out of the question because they could either rip the stake out of the ground or strangle and kill themselves on the collar and lead. Retractable leashes aren't a good idea because they could cause injury to either the dog or the person, or take off so fast that you lose your grip.
Another issue is their low body fat and no undercoat. This makes them very prone to the elements. So they need a coat in cold weather and can't be out too long when it's hot out. So keeping them in an outdoor kennel is a very, very bad idea. My hound is strictly a house dog but goes out on a leash to do her business. If/when we fence in the yard we'll be able to just open the door to let her out and back in.
I love everyone's pets! So much character. Here are mine -The clones: Rita (Left) and Toucus

I adopted Rita and she had kittens before I could get her fixed. I found loving homes for all of them except one. Toucus was the runt of the litter and the two are inseparable.
I couldn't imagine a world without any animals, especially these 2.

This is my bathroom shelf. It's full of personal care products. One doesn't belong; which is it?
Her name is Delphine. She's crazy. She's 2 years old; I adopted her on December 27 of last year; it was exactly one month after the sudden death of my beloved Clementine. The person who had her (but couldn't keep her because they had another cat who did not accept Delphine into their home and was making her life miserable) called me on Christmas day to ask me if I was interested in having her. I was still mourning my Clementine but I saw this as a sign from her, like she was saying "you gave me a wonderful life, taking care of me even after I was diagnosed with diabetes; here another kitty who needs your love and attention".
Yeah, I'm crazy too so we definitely belong together.
Giger's death stare...
Took the ferry boat out to San Juan Island and the pups were not digging their pet carrier.
And now I have a new lock screen photo
And now he's asleep

HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS THREAD UNTIL TODAY!?!?
my instagram is basically all pictures of my cats (and sometimes other people's cats) with an occasional picture of my fiancee and/or me.
our cats, captain malcolm reynolds (white & orange) & kaylee (white/brown/grey)
me, being a doof, with both cats
sarah, using mal as a pillow (because he loves it)
my old cats (which my ex took when we split in 2010) were named simon & river...i'm obviously a big firefly fan.
if sarah and i ever get a new cat, we want to name it rupaul.
I have a large, friendly Munchkin cat. He follows me everywhere around the house.

My cat, Mr. Bungle, when he was younger, trying to be all stealthy...
And my dog Sam, from around the same time. He lived to be 14.
best cat name, ever.
Vinnie died sometime this week. I'm not sure when and it's depressing the fuck out of me. My folks were away for three weeks and the person minding the house said he disappeared on Thursday. Sometime between then and maybe Tuesday someone found him and took him to the vet because he'd gone into renal failure. No tattoos or collar, so they couldn't find his owners, but it's a small community so the word spread. He had to be put down before the word reached us, I think my sister went down yesterday to identify him, or the vet sent her photos (she lives elsewhere). He was the sweetest thing, he literally followed me home when he was a kitten. 1997-2013.
i'm so, so sorry.
Thanks. It's the thought of him laying there for who knows how long, alone and in pain that's killing me.
Sorry for your loss, Fixer
Tonight it was cold out so I prepped Widget for our walk with his hoodie.
Straight thuggin'....
@Fixer808 I'm so very sorry for your loss. Try not to think too much about the last days of your kitty; although I understand perfectly where you're coming from, cats are known to hide when they are sick or near death. *hugs*
@NotoriousTIMP Widget is the cutest thing ever!
Widget looks like ODB.
