I think you mean Richard D. James, Buckethead, and Mike Patton need to make an album together.
I think you mean Richard D. James, Buckethead, and Mike Patton need to make an album together.
why are we talking about Buckethead in the Aphex Twin thread?!
Actually, wait, no, don't answer that.
I'm sure RDJ is amused that he won the grammy.
the word you want is 'chuffed'
i guarantee the next published interview will ask him that and his answer will include that word
Hahaha, I just listened to the Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments Pt2 EP at 45 RPM, and it sounds possibly even better at that speed (although a little harsher in the treble range, due to that pesky RIAA pre-emphasis EQ in the cutting stage). Friggin' mental.

Buckethead and Patton have already worked together:
and this:
Oh yeah, and Aphex Twin is the MAN for putting out 155 free tracks for his fans!
I have a feeling there will be more tracks. I think he's just waiting until people "forget" about the soundcloud. Or maybe he's already uploading them on another one?
New track was uploaded 3 hours ago.
The description for Diskhat ALL Prepared1mixed [snr2mix] has changed to:
"another mix,
In answer to the questions I keep getting asked.
ccai pt2 , part 1 is Drukqs, as that was the first thing I released that utilised computer controlled instruments, namely a modified Yamaha disklavier, 2nd gen and a couple of midi controlled solenoid based drum mechanisms I made just after I got the Disklavier.
I kept seeing them [disklaviers] in hotels, usually used to pipe muzak around the place and thought why doesn't anyone actually use one of these to compose music on and make beats etc!
A couple of times when i saw them in hotel lobbies, i sneaked up to the disklavier and set it to play ultra low pitch and very slow, funny watching peoples reactions, it was down every corridor etc
NOBODY i spoke to back in around 1999 inc. people at yamaha knew how to connect one of these to a computer and I had to take my computer into Yamaha to try it out to see how fast these things could go, no info on the net then either.
The first year I burned out countless solenoids in the thing and learnt how to repair them myself, the more recent gen ones like I used at the barbican have temperature cut outs on them thankfully, i’ve still fried a few though!"
17 new tracks appeared. On the track 'Lannerlog', the info reads:
"1989Got so many tapes left and just found another box that I hadn't seen in many years and not given to anyone, wanted to get as many of the old ones up before and if I keep uploading from later periods"

new description on the soundcloud reads:
"this is my only sc account btw, apart from the aphextwin one."
edit: and as soon as I post that, i find out about a soundcloud that sounds like it could be a collaboration of Richard and Mike Paradinas

I have so, so very many many boners
Did anyone else get burnout from the deluge of tracks? I listened so much and freaked out so much that I had to stop. It's like an AFX fuse blew or something and I had to take a week off. It was becoming my entire fucking life! haha
Uh, but that said I'm back to listening to the entire soundcloud on random as I type this.
Yeah, I had to take a break as well. I still haven't listened to everything yet.
U-ziq or whatever his name is is doing the same thing now (as in uploading a fuck ton of older material)......apparently..
So. Fucking. Gooooood
I'm digging that weird 20 minute soundscape thing.
my god... this is unreal.
More new stuff:
6 Gear Smudge
6 Backdrop Trigger
13 Phukup2

Lovely, lovely track. Your other two links are broken but he's not stopped since then...
Hoping he makes these latest tracks downloadable like the previous ones. Not a fan of the 128kbps stream quality.
More tracks today
and someone in the comments for one of the songs asked for some Drukqs material. Richard responded saying that he's not even close to reaching that era. This is fucking awesome.
