I finally, for the first time in my life, have a surround sound system, but my Social Network blu-ray is buried in a box in my parents' attic and would take quite some effort to find. Feel my pain, people!

I couldn't care less about 5.1 mixes for music. Once in a very, very, very great while, I feel like just sitting down in one spot and listening to something with absolutely nothing else happening around me. But the thing I love about music is that you can take it anywhere, so a good stereo mix is far, far more important to me than something you have to sit down and carve out over an hour of your day to appreciate.

Anyway, I think 5.1 music sounds amazing, particularly for orchestral recordings (which this does have, we can hear the string & wind sections in the new mix). Of course Blu-ray Audio is also the easiest way to cheaply deliver lossless full-resolution stereo in a cross-platform compatible physical format, too (LPCM).
