That's fantastic to hear her come out and say she's doing well. I can't act like I wouldn't be all warm and fuzzy if she came onstage at some point especially if it was with James in tow. Would be an awesome thing to see, even for just a one-off moment. It's just really awesome to see all these people doing well and how it seems like there's this very positive energy surrounding the band these days.

At this point, I think it really might be a matter of time, if it's not being planned already.

You've got James coming out of nowhere for three shows. Jimmy reminiscing on Twitter yesterday about the last time the four of them played together. And now this.

    Must not hyperventilate...

Considering how Billy's been refusing to comment in the VIP Q&A's and all of the other member's behavior it's looking pretty good IMO. All I know is if they announce a tour with the full original lineup then they're going to see ticket sales like never before (or, well, never since reforming, I should say). I'd definitely love to see it just to be able to say that I did, really.

I never got to see the original four play together (saw them in 2000 with Melissa). I will not miss it if they do again.

(archive.org isn't loading for me right now, though.)
They're working now. Speaking on the quirks of each individual rip, why is "Soul Power" from the Q101 rip the only track not cut on a sector boundary? If you listen closely, the very beginning of the track is cut-off, and I always get that annoying "click" when changing tracks, etc.

I wouldn't mind so much except the Q101 rip is leaps and bounds better with regards to clarity. It's also the only version with the banter/outro stuff intact.

@Jon thanks for the heads up, turns out I've always had the Virgin rip. The quality on Atom Bomb and In My Body for the Q101 sounds way higher, which is great since those are my two favorite MII songs.

"In My Body" is my favorite from the LP. "White Spyder" sounds way overblown at first on the Q101 rip, but it's overblown on every rip. The Q101 rip makes me think that the distortion was supposed to be an "upfront" part of the production, and not just this underneath "chunkiness".

White Spyder's always just seemed kickass to me no matter how I've heard it. It, Dross and Cash Car Star are all three of my favorite "heavy" Pumpkins tracks by far.

In general I'm a bit of a big fanboy of both Machina albums, I just wish that good old remaster we heard so much about would happen. Why record labels are such pricks about these kinds of things is beyond me.

    From a recent FB video:
Four BC and Jeff shows at Zuzu's in May, reservation details on Tuesday with 'another announcement'.

I won't cross my fingers for a member of the classic lineup to rejoin but I will certainly privately hope for it while telling myself to expect nothing.

I'd really like to see an extension of the In Plainsong tour where they hit cities they've skipped. I won't be making it to the Ft. Lauderdale show just because it's such a fucking drive to make on a Sunday night. If they played in Orlando or Tampa, I know a lot of fans in central FL who would go, and I'm sure similar cases are true of a lot of states and regions. But, I doubt it'll happen. The "smallness" of these tours seem to be a big part of the aesthetic, the whole intimate approach to them. Maybe something about the new album?

Or just cat clothes to go with the baby onesies.

Yeah, he also said The Ft. Lauderdale show is the last one with "this incarnation" of the band, and then basically listed off everyone so who knows. I don't want to get people - or myself - worked up over nothing, so I'm trying not to attach too much importance to that statement. I don't see him trying to sell shows with him and Jeff while at the same time announcing a reunion.

And he mentioned that the Plainsong format works very well so that's probably what we can expect going forward.

My three guesses are new album news, reunion show or Machina reissue news, with the latter two as remote, wishful possibilities. >_>

Has anyone in here picked up The Aeroplane Flies High vinyl box set? I've got it on CD and am considering it on vinyl since its the only one I don't have but can't decide whether or not to get it to complete the set...

Seeing something like this with the original members would be a dream come true.

POST FROM A PLANE by WPC: These days, video posts are a far more effective way to reach people, and I actually enjoy doing them (save for the fact that no amount of tries to contact FB gets a response from them on how we might shut off comments 'during the act'; as they can be distracting and even boorish in their 'you should do X if you want me to 'like' your band again...but I digress!) And I'll probably do a v-post tomorrow to announce what will be at least 4 'In Plainsong' shows at Madame ZuZu's Teahouse in May. But with all that said, sometimes the written word has a different emotive power, and I want to express my gratitude to all the many fans that came out during this incredible tour that wrapped up last night in Ft. Lauderdale; which also featured a guest vocal appearance by my niece Ava (during Lily and Knockin' On Heaven's Door). So again, THANK YOU to everyone who bought a ticket. Without you, we wouldn't be able to put on such a beautiful show.

Also, my appreciation to Jeff Schroeder, Jimmy Chamberlin, Katie Cole, and Sierra Swan for their absolute dedication each and every night. I am absolutely blessed to play with such incredible and kind musicians.

And speaking of those I've been fortunate enough to share the stage with, I see that it's D'arcy Wretzky's birthday today: So a big and happy B-Day to her from here! I'm encouraged to hear that she is playing music once more, and writing songs. As I've often said, no one had better musical discernment in our band than she.

As I head home, it's crazy to think that it was nearly 30 years ago that I began this wild and wooly journey, and that meeting James, then D'arcy, then Jimmy would alter all of our lives forever; for the better, I would argue. Which I suppose makes the hardships that came too, bittersweet. And as I feel speculation start to swirl about what happens next for SP, I'd like to say quite simply and directly that what matters most to Jeff and I is the music. Because from our darkest days together over the last 10 years it's been our faith that the music we make, and by extension our loving curation of the songs made from the beginning on, that'd sail this old, creaky ship forward to another year.

So see you next tour, wherever and whenever that may be! WPC

I'm excited to see him shout at Darcy. That speaks volumes. I still don't think a reunion tour is going to happen, but dammit I want him to give us Machina news tomorrow!

I think the only way D'arcy will ever play with the Pumpkins again is if/when they get inducted into the hall of fame. Aside from that, I wouldn't count on it.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a full reunion tour or album, but reading these recent articles I feel something like some residency reunion gigs in Chicago or the major markets might be inevitable in the next couple years. If all four are open to it and there's not a bunch of 90s drama left over, the money will speak volumes. I know for one I'd gladly pay $75 or $100 and drive 4 hours to watch that show.

It's just great to hear all of these grown adults getting along like grown adults instead of spitting childish and totally juvenile insults at each other. Whether they ever reunite or not is less of a big deal to me, I just am really happy to see them not being at each other's throats when, like Billy even said up there, their knowing one another led to absolutely incredible lives and careers and they wrote some of the greatest songs of all time for my money.

Pumpkins songs are recorded with a wall of guitars anyway, 3 guitars would make it sound pretty damn good live.

Good show last night in Ft. Lauderdale. I have to say the venue is beautiful. Nicest place I've ever seen a show.

For this show, I would pay $200, drive nails into my ankles and knees and hitchhike to Chicago. And I'd throw on a Zero tee and party like it's 1995.

"But even with Jeff in?" you ask? Well, my response is "Oh yeah, that Jeff Schroeder guy, he's cool."

And you may ask "Are you being sarcastic?"

    I reply "I don't even know anymore."

    </Homerpalooza reference>

(I seriously have no problems with Jeff, for the record)

Corgan officially sucks. Again, Bernie Sanders' proposals are only as radical as Reagan or Eisenhower's time in office- tangible aspects of citizenship. I say Reagan because corporations were paying in as much as Sanders asked. 'Socialism' exists for companies. What's difficult about this concept? Corporate welfare is real, Billy.
