This is borderline spotting and maybe it is being discussed elsewhere but does anyone else think that AMCs new show Halt and Catch Fire's intro has some Rob/Trent influence to it? Maybe not even direct influence but similarities. Specifically with respect to the TSN artwork from the cd/bluray audio packaging.

Does anyone else feel like you've accomplished nothing when you think about Ilan? He is what... 25 right now? So his first go 'round with NIN he was 20 - 21? Goddamn.

He seems like such a cool dude. I love his Insagram posts. He seems to genuinely appreciate everything. Traveling, family, his dogs. Haha.

The man loves Ferrero Rochers. No joke. I posted a pic of a wrapper of one as a "sculpture" and told him that he might appreciate it on IG. He actually replied back to add a few more wrappers into the mix. He is so awesome!

I generally can't stand the whole "let's make a list with separate pages for each item to get more money from ads" thing, but I can't lie that was a decent list of things that actually are pretty much NIN-fan-centric. When I first read the intro, with them referring to Trent as "High King of the Emo Elves" I was fully prepared to roll my eyes, but yeah, Meathead, the ARG, the Fragility tour, etc., all of it was pretty decent. Not a bad find!

Head's up. currently there's a webrip of Deadmau5's latest double release titled "while (1<2)" that includes his remixes of HTDA's "Ice Age" & NIN's "Survivalism."
i prefer his version of "Ice Age" over the original, i like the beat with the rest of track. gives it an extra boost, original tends to get boring for me.
and i'm not even a fan of Deadmau5, but his HTDA/NIN remixes show a whole other sides from him that i wish he would pursue over the usual club crap.

For his seventh album, Deadmau5 has turned from an electro-house polymath into the world's most unnecessary Nine Inch Nails tribute act. With a running time longer than the new X-Men movie, the two-disc While(1<2) gives Mau5 plenty of room to spiral downward into many of Trent Reznor's favorite tricks – the moody minor-key melodies, the Erik Satie-derived piano miniatures, the flickering static and machine fuzz, the bent and tortured notes, the plodding chug on acoustic guitar. Twice you can hear him end a song by taking his foot o the piano's sustain pedal, just like NIN collaborator Aphex Twin's "Avril 14th." There's even a remix of a seven-year-old Nine Inch Nails song ("Survivalism") that makes it sound like it came from 1999. However, erase the Reznor fan fiction from this 141-minute behemoth, and there's a solid 64-minute house record hidden in there, trading in night-cruise synths and walloping throb. Highlights like "Infra Turbo Pigcart Racer" and "Mercedes" are revving engines that gleam with vintage textures: Deadmau5 shines brightest, it seems, when he turns off The Social Network and puts on Drive.

Mau5's new record was very enjoyable I think. I never really got into house music all too much, but the NIN influences in While (1<2) keep it interesting I think. I could see why a house fan may not like it though.
