Currently waiting for Gary Numan to come on stage at Hammersmith, London. Pre-show music included Closer (played twice) and The Wretched.

Spotted a stage tech wear a NIN tshirt.

In This Moment do a, shall I say, interesting, cover of Closer. I can honestly say I only know a couple songs by them just from listening to Octane on Sirius, and they aren't all that bad. This one though...

New Angels & Airwaves album has some "Trent Reznor-Depeche Mode approach" through Ilan Rubin's involvment.

You and Atticus wrote the bulk of the score during the most recent Nine Inch Nails tour. Had that been planned?

We had been working on a Nine Inch Nails record, started to talk about how that inevitably meant some sort of tour, had everything lined up with Fincher about his plans, which at the time were for a different film that was going to start this past fall. Had the tour booked, then got the call, "Hey, it's not happening, the film, but I am going to do 'Gone Girl' and that's going to move the schedule ahead to land exactly when your tour's booked." OK, so do I cancel the tour? Or do I give the film up to someone else?

@Corona Radiata come on man, you can't leave us hanging like that. I need more info about this

Edit: it seems that Robin and Paul Abramson and good friends, so that might have something to do with it. http://dailybruin.com/2012/10/03/qa-...star-by-night/

    I got it from here...http://anne-jovan.tumblr.com/post/10...ctures-in-paul

Not sure where they got it from though.

But yes, Robin is good friends with Paul Abramson. He's played and written with his band Crying For Kafka in the past.

It reads like an e-mail Q&A, so any "poor writing" would be Ilan's fault. If it wasn't by e-mail, then it's just a transcription, so there's no "writing" involved.

The 2013 documentary Bridgend, about a crazy ass string of 20 something suicides by hanging in the small town of Bridgend, Wales, made even stranger by the fact that the kids all knew each other, quite appropriately features "A Warm Place" and "The Persistence of Loss."
It also has a lot of original soft NIN style music...the music supervisor and original composer must be fans.

Richard Fortus interview saying how he turned down NIN among others out of deference to Axl Rose
    https://www.stlbeacon.org/#!/content...coverpage=3542

"He ticks off names of some groups that he’s turned down, “Alice Cooper. Bowie. That was one that really hurt. Iggy Pop was another one that really hurt. Those are two gigs I would have liked. Nine Inch Nails is another; Trent (Reznor) even released for a second that I was joining, but he was doing that to stir up shit with Axl (Rose)."

Trent seemed to have a weird relationship with Axl, from all the early interviews I've read he's always defended Axl as he liked NIN and invited them on tour, even though it didn't work out. What happened I wonder ? Was he annoyed at Robin wanting to stay with Axl or something?

Saw this a few days ago and decided not to post it because I didn't think it was much of a real spotting, but now that it's semi-relevant to the prior post I figured I might as well.

So I guess in 1992 at least, GNR was pro-NIN.

Axl was always seen wearing NIN or Nirvana or Faith No More shirts around that time....Must have killed him those bands hated him and his band (at least FNM and Nirvana did) TR never openly bashed him

A new 30 min. Reznor & Ross interview (as well as a new one with Fincher) seems to have been uploaded! Haven't watched it yet, but looking forward to it.

That Fincher interview is absolutely amazing, I adore the guy. It's interesting to see behind the curtain of his movies a little bit. Any idea when the full interview will be up?
