It was familiar... but I cheated. I'm not proud.
The techno babble compelled me.
look ok I was just out of art school and involved with original production, my only other credit @ the time was a stop motion animation of a b, before commercial, with naked Mahicans with Budweiser, on their chest, that appeared once on mTV"s liquid television, before getting a ceece and desisted notice from alolf and I ran scared as any 20 year old would.

I like this show a lot, but I think it is at its best when it is not focusing too much on action/war. I'm a much bigger fan of episodes like the second one with Rainn Wilson than the most recent one with the cheesy fight scenes.
Can't wait until next week to see how they wrap everything up!
Some thoughts on the season finale:
A few problems.
Spoiler: Georgiou would have killed Michael, the Federation wouldn't have changed their plans to destroy Qo'noS and L'Rell would have ordered an attack on Earth once she was in power.
If you can give those somewhat major plot holes a pass, it was still a satisfying conclusion.
As for the end:
Spoiler: It was really, really awesome seeing the original Enterprise, and not the giant blow dyer from the J.J. movies. They pulled that off really well and it's a great setup for season 2.
How can you watch this and NOT go all fan-boy/girl?
@RhettButler Dude that literally gave me goosebumps when i saw it and a big shit eating grin.
Double post.

@Dr Channard , your thoughts?
Haven’t gotten any further than episode 11 yet, and been trying to avoid any spoilers. May try to catch up to the finale this weekend.
Watched Star Trek: The Motion Picture today. It's not just an underrated Trek film, but an underrated movie in general. It just looks awesome--visually, very stunning, with a good story and score.
Just caught up to 15, and got a much bigger kick out of seeing Clint Howard than the Enterprise. Him in this scene was gold.
The lines on her don’t look bad, but it was hard to get a real clean look at the ship while moving and bathed in that blue light. At first glance it looks better than the JJverse Enterprise. Plus I thought the Discovery was a considerably smaller vessel than the Enterprise of the era, but when nose to nose Discovery was considerably bigger than I had been thinking.
Assuming we will see Captain Pike and Spock during the debut of season 2.
Oh man i cannot even fathom seeing yet another person playing Spock, it feels so weird to think about. Granted the JJ cast grew on me but i could also make the separation because it was understood to be an altered timeline, I don't think that THIS series quite has that luxury.

@Dr Channard, what would happen if Trump met the Talosians? How would that conversation go?
It wouldn't be surprising to see another Spock. The show has already proven unafraid to take liberties and shake things up.
My PC is down, so I’m using my Playstation and my ancient tablet to connect here, making it difficult to interact. But I’m getting to this...
Voyager has the best opening theme song. There, I've said it.
