Does that mean Obama gets to appoint another judge or does it have to wait until after the election?

Sounds like we have to wait until next year, as they will likely block another nomination from Obama.
WHOEVER WINS SHOULD NOMINATE OBAMA
Congress will mos def block it as long as they can.
I think nearly 100% of GOP said they will block.
They can't block a SCOTUS justice for almost a fucking YEAR. The next President won't be inaugurated until January 20, 2017.
See Article 2 Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution.
The President makes a nomination and a Senate committee confirms or rejects the President's nomination.[The President] shall have power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, judges of the Supreme Court, and all other officers of the United States, whose appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by law: but the Congress may by law vest the appointment of such inferior officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the courts of law, or in the heads of departments.

Jesus 2016 is the year that music died...
I feel a little bad as I've just started getting into their music, but they've been a name I've been familiar with for awhile now because of the circles they run in. Steven Wilson posted something nice on his Facebook about him. Their last album Love, Fear and the Time Machine is really solid.

She was 94.
I guess it hasn't been mentioned that Pat Conroy, author of The Prince of Tides and The Great Santini, has died from pancreatic cancer.
I actually really liked his books, especially the above-mentioned and The Lords of Discipline.
Shit.... now I'm even more depressed though 90 is a good age to die. Thank you George. You are the Fifth Beatle, well one of the Fifth Beatles.
