Thats a big one. I think everyone figured we'd still get intermittent Rush shows here and there after their retirement. No way now. Major loss. One of the best to ever play his instrument, and influenced hundreds of thousands at least.

Greatest drummer has gone. Damn. RIP
Shit....and it's the same type of brain cancer that took Gord Downie from us too.

This one stings a bit.
As a former journalist and someone who is deeply terrified of the attack on journalism today, this one hurts.
Jim Lehrer dead at 85.
Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash.
RIP Kobe.
Damn
Man I don't remotely care about Basketball, but even I realize that Kobe dying is like if Michael Jordan had died in the 90s.
Man, my Twitter feed is on fire with it.... RIP. Damn shame...
Helicopters ... Ugh. Fuck helicopters.
RIP Kobe. Great player. Not a good way to go out.
Hope to all that is pure in the universe it's not true. I mean, 5 people were onboard total.
Reports that the other 4 onboard were his daughters. No fucking way.
Reports on Twitter that Rick Fox was on board.
Yeah saw that too...man this is nuts.
I’m already seeing Twitter rumors flying about the other four people. Let’s not.
Rest In Peace. So very sad to hear about.
Meanwhile, Kobe hasn’t been dead for 24 hours and Morrissey has managed to make himself look like an idiot about the incident - https://www.morrissey-solo.com/threa...6-2020.145544/
This is all just so terribly terribly sad
I'm so bummed. I'm a lifelong Dallas Mavericks fan (so glad they decided to retire number 24) so I grew up watching Dirk vs Kobe. Dirk was obviously my favorite player, but Kobe was THE superstar of the league in the 00s. He embodied the NBA, and what it means to be a competitor. He does leave behind a very complicated legacy, but him and his daughters deaths has left me shocked, even almost 24 hours later. I stayed up so late just to watch his final game. I wanted him to shoot the ball every time he touched it. He put up 60 that game in true Kobe fashion. It's sad to think he won't even get to give his Hall of Fame speech which I know would have been epic. Such a tragic situation.
