I like The In-Laws but still hate Love Story.
legitimately my face when I heard the news. Rugrats has always been my favorite Nick show.
Jack Riley was 81, did lots of acting in front of the camera too. Also one of the voices in these ads
I love Mr. Fuji. He will be totally missed. I also love this moment where Shawn Michaels thought Mr. Fuji was at the DX BBQ:
Sorry for the double-post but.... puta madre..... Juan Gabriel dies of a heart attack at age 66: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/...b04193420f9fa4
Gene Wilder
I speak for many when I say.... GOD DAMMIT.
You know, I've thought about Gene Wilder from time to time the last few years. I knew he was getting pretty old and I was dreading the day that he passed. And now it's happened.
Think I'll watch "Willy Wonka" this weekend and try not to cry.
Alzheimer's is such an ugly disease. Known a few older people who got torn apart by it.
What awful news. This one hits especially hard for me ... like a lot of kids, Willy Wonka was such a facet of my childhood. Nothing ever came as close to being magic incarnate to me as Gene in that movie did. By all accounts he was such a sweet, loving man.
Everyone's said it plenty but it's so true: this year really fucking sucks when it comes to death and it's awful knowing that it's gonna be like this for a long time ahead.
Willy Wonker and the Chocolate Factory is mine and many others i known over the years favourite childrens film of all time.
Everyone knows the songs.
I watched it about 100 times...still love it.
That evil demented psychadelic boat scene...lol...urgh...'there's no way of knowing where we are going'.
It's not just Willy Wonka that I will fondly remember him for. It's also for his work in Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, and the films he did with Richard Pryor as they were just gold together. I kind of have a soft spot for The Woman in Red as he was so funny in that yet one of my all-time favorite performances from him is in Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex (But Were Afraid to Ask) as his segment alone was the best thing in that film. All because he falls in love with a goat.
@thevoid99 that whole goat sequence is one of the funniest things in Woody Allen's entire filmography. Utterly fucking golden.
NOT BLASPHEME! just my favorite meme...

more than that, gene was the shit, his films with richard pryor were gold, and his unconditional love for gilda radner. that's what i know and will remember him for. 83 is not a bad deal!
not on topic per se, just a thought maybe...
joan rivers outlived johnny carson and larry flynt outlived jerry falwell.
mel brooks outlived gene wilder, by a hair...?
edit: please stop with this "fuck you and die 2016!" lots of influential people die EVERY YEAR. or even every month or day. influxes are common. refer to the conspiracy thread for the zapf theory.
it's all perceptive. who's important to YOU and who's not.
WHO REALLY RELATED TO GENE WILDER, PRINCE, MUHAMMED ALI, ETC...?
none of us.

I've had that "pure imagination" song tune stuck in my head all day.
wtf? look @Ryan . The Grim Law in action, once again
Zipf's law is not a conspiracy theory, lol.
It's a linguistic power law probability distribution that i came across and found interesting, where a word's frequency of appearance in literature is inversely proportional to its rank of commonality in a certain and precise way. In other words, THE is the most common word, the second word appears 1/2 as frequently as the first, the third word appears 1/3 as frequently as the first and so on.
It's not some grammarian conspiracy...THAT I KNOW OF! DUM DUM DUM!
And i think it's in the "little things that cheer you up" thread (for fuck's sake) because i thought it was cool.
Also, A WHOLE HELL OF A LOT OF US related to and were moved by the personages we are discussing here. If i am to understand this thread correctly, it's why we are discussing them.
Edit: and, goddamn, how are you so sure mel brooks is going to be dead soon. He could live another 10 years.
