It is a little weird that they're doing a second pressing. I can't blame them because clearly based on the resale value of the first 2 volumes they are leaving money on the table. I'm curious if the reprint will somehow be marked that it is a reprint on the actual record packaging. If they're so willing to do a repress of 3 why wouldn't they reprint the other 2? So weird.

Yeah, if they reprinted all of them I would go for them. But I missed out on the first two and seeing the price of them being resold for is keeping me away from buying the third if I can't get the first two on record. Might just go the digital route. So far the first two are on sale digitally on Amazon, but I wish there was a site selling the albums in lossless.

Alessandro said he isn't interested in releasing them in lossless. There is a cd coming at some point.

That's a shame. I would think Alessandro would be the type of guy that cared about sound quality and the listening experience.
Guess I gotta wait for the crumby CD.

Too much effort? It's takes more time to render a track to MP3 than keeping it lossless.
Little payback? I love your work, Alessandro... but maybe you're going deaf from touring with NIN.
There's a HUGE noticeable difference in audio quality between FLAC and MP3.
Especially since his work is a lot more atmospheric and soundscapes, a lot of this gets choked out with MP3s.
Wow, I'm really am in shock that he said this.
I'm not trying to be some audiophile snob here... but come on, Alessandro.
Going lossless is something that would truly benefit the listener with his style of production.

I wouldn't be surprised if this article helps create a whole new style of music based from the audio data lost due to compression... ghostly music...

Haha don't shoot the messenger. Maybe he just means it isn't as easy to sell FLAC as it is mp3.

That's definitely what I took away from it. Hosting and offering lossless formats when the majority of people still just grab the mp3s, I can see where he'd decide it's not worth it. I absolutely wish everything had lossless options, but oh well.

Hahahah, sorry didn't mean to come off as me yelling at you.
Just explaining why lossless is pretty important to have as a musician/artist.
There should always be an option for lossless.

Alessandro said in a Facebook comment that the Forse cd set will be 4 discs.

Now we just have to wait. If Forse 3 is any indication it should be out in 2017.

"Proof" is pretty strong. I read the original academic paper that was published behind this. It's an arts project from an arts school pretending to be a science study. The source paper doesn't even reveal which encoder was used (we know lame: but not which version) nor what encoder settings. A big chunk of the background is based on artefacts from 128kbps cbr and below! The specific scenario, where the author has constructed a computer model of a diner, is totally superfluous to the academic point being made; it's entirely for aesthetic effect and all it does is obscure the argument being made. No hint of a double blind listening test, or a panel, or reproducibility.

Thanks for sharing though, I did enjoy reading the paper!

So... my local paper announces shows every Thursday and today they announced this little gem...

    http://www.foxcabaret.com/event/ales...davachi-smith/

I have no idea what this show is supposed to be about, but it seems to be a one off show for him. I can't see to find any other tour dates.

Needless to say, for $14, I'm there! Anyone else that lives in the Vancouver area should come, it'll be an ETS night out with Alessandro Cortini, lol.
