Alessandro's live performance of Sonno is now available to buy on cassette from Mount Analog. I've bought it since I'm trying to complete a collection, but $20 overseas shipping for a cassette seems steep. It's my birthday in ten days or so, I'm using that as justification for outrageous purchases atm
yeah I know that feeling. I bought Pearls to Pigs LP from them and I hesitated at first because of those shipping costs.
But 20$ for a 10$ cassette? I think I'll pass this one
Hopefully the next releases will be less expensive for us in Europe if he'll move to Berlin as mentioned in a recent interview.
by the way, someone filmed the whole show in Verona last month and posted it on youtube. Unfortunately the audio recording is not from a soundboard as the previous video I posted
Second pressing of Forse 2 on opaque blue vinyl is now up for order at Important Records: http://www.importantrecords.com/imprec/imprec374
Also some copies of Forse 3 on semi-transparent purple vinyl (same as first pressing apparently) are available again: http://www.importantrecords.com/imprec/imprec418
Just ordered Forse 2 to go with my others
I've received Forse 2 so now have the full set. They're great in a kinda weird, warm, tranquil way. I also bought a copy of the Scientist red 7" off Discogs and received email confirmation from Mount Analog that my horrendously expensive cassette that I have no means to play is on its way. It's all been a bit quiet since Risveglio was released, anyone have any ideas what Ally is up to?
tape finally showed up!
Just got an email back that my order was "misplaced" and they don't have my cassette anymore. I'm so depressed.
Edit: Just got an email that they found my cassette! I'm so ecstatic!

is this really new music? On the first tape Alessandro Cortini pursues the electro-acoustic spectres of his Forse volumes and the Sonno / Risveglio couplet with an hour of new music spiralling down foggy alleys of primitivist, viscous drone and collapsing banks of curdling, atonal synth noise. It’s the most unsettling work yet from Cortini, tentatively stepping through those comforting analogue recordings into a world gradually consumed by noise and dissonance. If it offers us any clues as to where he might head next - it’s a tantalising prospect.
but £28.99 for four cassettes? Sigh..
Seriously can someone explain the whole appeal of cassettes to me? Why there's this sudden surge in cassette-only releases and versions of things? Did everyone but me get some used car from 1991 or something? I honestly have no idea why this is becoming a thing and feel terribly out of the loop about it.
no idea, but I agree with you. I love owning a physical copy of the music I listen to, but if I have to choose between a cassette, a cd and a vinyl, I'll pick the vinyl without even hesitating.
(is duplicating a cassette still a thing? I remember doing it once when I was a kid about 15-20 years ago or so haha)
Alessandro will be playing at Primavera Sound festival 2016!
Wow. This lineup kicks major major ass, in my opinion.
