I happen to be in town. and i'm hitting this show. who else is going?
unfortunately I couldn't make it to any of the Avanti shows in Europe. I tried to avoid the new material as much as I could before an official release, but then I stumbled across this video and this track is just...mesmerising. Hopefully he's gonna release Avanti soon.
Also, some nice insights were captured in this video . I can't hear very well, did he say a new album is coming out in April?

I talked to him after the show in Padova, he told me Avanti is gonna be released in march.
Really looking forward to it, from the live show it seemed like the song structures are a bit more complex than his latest releases, and that is something that I hoped for.
I just saw this tweet (was that an interview or something?) and I found out that nts radio has the complete "live from unsound Toronto" recording as well as an interview from October 2015 and other stuff. You can check them out here: http://www.nts.live/search?q=cortini
to my big surprise, Alessandro will be playing in Geneva on February 13th https://antigel.ch/site/fr/programme
Antigel Festival has a history of finding new venues each year in very unusual places. Alessandro's gig will be in a swimming pool at bains de cressy and of course you must bring your own swimwear
I no longer live in Geneva but I'll do my best to be there.
edit : Stockholm too on February 11th https://www.instagram.com/p/BNrQUXRg9F6/

I'll just leave this here:
New track from Alessandro, dedicated to Martin Luther King Jr.
Also, does anyone know if Thanks For Calling was released in a lossless format anywhere, or is the MP3 all that's available?
I hope someone can record this tomorrow!

I tried to record it but Quicktime crashed halfway through. Thankfully the interview is still available on RBMA

(you can even download it here but don't tell anyone)
Forse trilogy will be soon re-released on CD with an extra 4th CD. A collaboration with Alessandro and Merzbow will also be released.
I see Forse 3 is available on 7Digital in FLAC, but not Forse 1 or 2! Ugh! I want all 3 in lossless, please. Guess I gotta wait for the CD reissue.

New double LP collaboration.
Alessandro Cortini and Merzbow.
Alessandro Cortini. And Merzbow.
Alessandro... Cortini. And... Merzbow.
...
WHAT???
*faints*
There are some recent live performances on YouTube
I didn't know about this release. Apparently came out at the end of 2016...

Does anyone know when the Forse collection with bonus disc suppose to come out on CD?
Must say, a while ago I decided to give Ally a shot, and Blue was a very pleasant surprise. Seeing that tweet up there has pumped me up.

Is there any way to get Forse 1 (on vinyl) in Europe at a reasonable price? I've seen people from the US selling it online for about 40$, but if I understand USPS's homepage correctly, shipping to Europe for this kind of item is 20-25$, so in case I have to pay customs on top of that, it would give a total of 75€ (60€ without customs). Ouch.
Edit: UK would be fine, too, of course

I added a show in Milan to the list
http://www.santeriasocial.club/here/...-cortini-live/
and I'll be there
I recorded yesterday's talk with Cortini for a friend, and I thought I might share it on ETS as well. The interview is in Italian and you can download it here.
Nicholas David Altea (Wired, Rumore) was the host and Tommaso Colliva (Music Producer, Calibro 35) was the other guest.
to be honest, I ended up taping the show too. Send me a PM if you're interested in a copy of the recording. Available only for you guys on ETS .

thanks, I added the show to the list! I'm trying to keep this post up to date.
I know that many of you are following this thread for updates on Alessandro's projects, so there are a few interviews that are definitely worth mentioning.
Interview #1
http://www.cyclicdefrost.com/2017/06...chris-downton/
This was also confirmed on twitter.[Avanti] should be out on Point of Departure/PIAS by the end of August.
Next news:
AC: There will be a SONOIO record coming out by the end of the year since it’s been finished for quite some time, though I am not going to do anything about it nor play shows or promote it. I have no interest in it anymore, as I find the new (creative) direction much more inspiring and therapeutic.I hate to have stuff die on my hard drive so I’ll put it out. Blindoldfreak was nothing more or less than what I am doing now, so you could say it’s still going on.just a different name.
Interview #2
https://soundcloud.com/ears-have-ear...have-ears-2017
At the moment Alessandro got bored of synthesisers and went back playing guitar. He says that the next record might be based on guitars, so that's an exciting news!
Interview #3 (Alessandro and Lawrence English)
https://radio.abc.net.au/programitem...90W6?play=true
Finally, for those who're living under a rock, Alessandro also made an appearance on .
This is so fucking sad. SONOIO was/is amazing. I love his instrumental work, but SONOIO was just something different. There will be a SONOIO record coming out by the end of the year since it’s been finished for quite some time, though I am not going to do anything about it nor play shows or promote it. I have no interest in it anymore, as I find the new (creative) direction much more inspiring and therapeutic.
Well, at least there's a new record coming out. :/
