Easily the best thing I saw all day. Those special features fucking cracked me up. My favorite was the "The Kids Aren't All Right" one. I wonder if Criterion underestimated how many people would have legitimately bought that if it were real. Because everyone I've seen, has said that they'd have bought it in a heartbeat.
Rosemary's Baby confirmed.
Pretty bored by July's releases. Hopefully August is much better.
I'm still waiting word for both Y Tu Mama Tambien and Breaking the Waves on their Criterion releases suggested from the New Year's Eve cartoon.
I'm up for that!!! In fact, I thought about having Heaven's Gate as a Criterion release. It's not a very good film though it has its moments including Vilmos Zsigmond's cinematography and David Mansfield's direction. Besides, I think it needs it display the film's original long cut and the re-released shortened version to understand what Cimino had to do to re-release the film.
The guy has several other videos in that vein too, worth checking out.
Is Criterion having a sale right now? I notice a bunch of titles (blurays) are $20 and under on Amazon.com right now.
You answered your own question.
Amazon frequently holds Criterion sales. They're not like the B&N sales where it's all titles, but they do usually select a decent sized handful.
August's lineup:
Rosetta
La Promesse
The Royal Tenenbaums
Weekend
Lonesome
Quadrophenia
I'm very excited about Tenenbaums coming to blu. It's about time!
The Dardenne Brothers films are the ones I want. I love Rosetta and I really want to see La Promesse. I hope it opens the door for more of their films including their earlier work prior to La Promesse. Hopefully for the eclipse series.

I never realized Brief Encounter was on Criterion bluray, but it's only available in the box set "David Lean Directs Noel Coward." I would love to own Brief Encounter but is it worth the $52.99 for the boxset? Does anyone own this or have opinions on the other movies in the set, "In Which We Serve", "This Happy Breed", and "Blithe Spirit"?
Kim Newman just recorded a commentary for "The Blob" (58)
Stumbled upon this tumblr account that creates Criterion dvd covers and film posters.

Did anyone get the new Criterion newsletter? I think the puzzle picture is Paul Greengrass' Bloody Sunday.
Wait a minute, doesn't the Barnes & Noble Criterion sale start in July?
No it was July, my credit card is still recovering. And I'm already making a list.
