lolololol when i read your post that song popped into my head and then i looked down and saw the video.
say man have you heard the eminem and lil wayne track that samples that song ?
it gets my fired up. i suppose that's a guilty pleasure in and of itself.
but what i was GONNA post....i like to click through those things that are like slideshows of TWENTY CELEBS WITHOUT MAKE UP! or THESE THIRTEEN TV STARS STAY TWISTED! and shit like that.
i can do it for hours. my wife has to come get me.
sorry for the double post, but while i'm at it, gawdDAMN i love this track.
Had no idea about that song, the track is decent actually, i just find odd that the song is "applied" to something so serious, i love Haddaway's version because it sounds everything BUT serious, yet i'm glad to see they did a creative sample even incorporating the lyrics into the new rap, interesting...
I also don't really believe in the concept of guilty pleasures, but...
Right Said Fred: there's more to them than "I'm Too Sexy": they were one of my first musical loves as a teenager
my wife and i had this theory that em was dissing the other three, even in the video presentation.
he says "he can make them look like bozos, wonderin' if he should spit this slow....fuck no, go for broke."
and it says "there they go packing stadiums as shady spits his flow."
the other three are all wearing chains and have fireworks and shit but eminem is just standing there with a hoodie on.
you got me thinking and i looked deeper into it and found this, where they say that he was INDIVIDUALLY talking shit about each of the three (making a name for himself as he goes (drake,) the tooth filling thing (wayne) etc )
it's a trip. Yeah, eminem murders them on that track.
He's a guilty pleasure for me in general. I like hip hop, and hell, i like wayne, but just about no one can touch eminem as far as raw skills.
HEY @aggroculture . I saw Right Said Fred live when i was about 13
Don't Talk Just Kiss was the new single.
Jesus, that song has been in the undertow of my subconscious for 21 years.

I am a huge fan of the Danish Funk/Soul/Pop band Asteroids Galaxy Tour. Anyone who knows me who finds out about it is always shocked and still voices disbelief any time in the future that it's brought up. They just refuse to let it fully sink into their brains as fact. I can't help it, I fucking love this group.
If you're unfamiliar with the group, you might recognize their song Golden Age that was used in a few Heineken ads...
They also did a cover of Inner City Blues that I really dig...
Also, who here remembers a little Australian band by the name of Savage Garden?

I kind of like "Shake it Off."
Haha I was working as a copy writer for an advertising agency a few years ago and the girls from the graphic departement every once in a while used to blast that Savage Garden best-of record. Good times and I'm sure I know all the words by now if I ever get to listen to a song again. It definitely helped us get through the day.
And cheers to the Asteroids Galaxy Tour. I actually wanted to catch a show of theirs last year but bailed since... you know, it's just a guilty pleasure for me aswell.
I listen to a fairly wide range of music and I don't really give a fuck what anyone thinks of what I listen to, so it's rare for me to listen to something that I consider a guilty pleasure. I think right now the only thing that qualifies is "Chandelier" by Sia. When I start listening to it, I question why exactly I like this song, because the opening immediately makes me feel like I've made some sort of mistake. I just don't care for it at all. And then, when it gets to the chorus, I completely forget about it. FUCK! I'm caught hook, line and sinker. I love how there's a sense of empowerment and a sense of tragedy to it. It's so schizophrenic, and I love how her voice cracks hitting those higher notes. Most pop stars are too chicken shit to make themselves that vulnerable on a track. Like I said, I listen to a fairly wide range of music, but even this is a bit outside of what I normally listen to. I'm still trying to rationalize it.
Saw Fall Out Boy the other night and while they kinda mailed it in it was AWESOME.
no, but for real though.
OK so the YouTube videos won't play for some reason?? but here's the track
both "don't be cruel (1988)" and "bobby (1992)"
both remind me of my childhood & high school.
ah nostalgia!

Who else here has this bad boy on pre-order?

I love me some butt rock. It's like a bad direct-to-DVD action movie; utter trash, but perfect for having a good time with my bad taste. Downtuned chugging guitars, overproduced drums and donkey vocals remind me of the sheer banality of the '00s.
Shinedown is amazing, every record is killer and there’s never been an ounce of controversy with the band in the bands 14 year history.
I still love and listen to Roxette on a regular basis...
This song is the fucking shit.
