My town announced Kid Rock will be playing at our state fair, and I live a few blocks away from the fair grounds, which means I'll have to hear that chucklefuck chant "Let's Go Brandon" from my house. I think I'm going to take a trip out of town that day.

There's tremendous irony in a band that was caught plagiarizing YouTube songs (bought or not) doing a covers album next. I was howling at the oh-so expressive "broken in half" and "pointing at me when I sing 'me.'"

(Maybe doing a cover of "Been Caught Stealing" is too on the nose.)

SO I have no idea why I did this but, listned to every single Godsmack album. They are all pretty bad. Faceless was probably the best one and even then, it's just average at best

    Rankings of them
    S/T - Light 3 (GO/STAY/KEEP AWAY counter - 57)
    Awake - Strong 3
    Faceless - Decent 5
    IV - Strong 3
    The Oracle - Strong 2
    1000hp - Light 3
When Legends Rise - Light 2

Hahaha he delayed the concert by a couple of hours then suddenly canceled the show because of "high winds". Its a little breezy in town. Police had to show up because the drunken maga crowd were getting pissed and throwing shit around.

    Just listened to Demi Lovato.

Confirmed by belief that most modern music is terrible.

Sturgeon's Law : ninety percent of everything is crap.

My personal takeaway : learn to enjoy some crap or die a sad elitist.
I wouldn't say that I enjoyed that album really, but I'm really not a pop/RnB person so it started with a serious handicap. It's nothing groundbreaking and completely aligns with what's being done in pop nowadays. On that regard it feels like the mid-90ies when everyone was trying to put some rap or industrial spice on everything. So she's rebelling against her own image and is going hard pop, that's okay with me.

Just checked out Bad Bunny. 30 seconds was enough. Really not my thing.

I'll renominate Vampire Weekend. Duller than dishwater.

hearing Owl City is like being stabbed in the eyes by The Postal Service. You'll just be walking through the damn grocery story, trying to see if they've got eggs in stock, and then suddenly every orifice in your body is invaded by some dick going "I like to make myself bellllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeve, that planet earth turnnnnnnnnnnnnnnns slowwwwwwwwly"

Fucking give me Cher being autotuned all over the place all day long. Just without question, Owl City is the most objectionable "music" ever made.

VW is a fine example of NYC cultural imperialism. Hugely overrated.

That song drives me up the fucking wall. I worked at a grocery store for a brief time a few years ago, and it played at least five or six times during a four hour shift. If you could apply the odds of hearing that song while shopping to playing the lottery, you'd be a goddamn millionaire.

please someone make it stop. This is why someone should have just taken Guetta out for good after the BLM rooftop disaster.

It was just brought to my attention that Theory of a Deadman have a new song, "Ambulance."

I saw that and immediately knew how the song would go in my head. Then I went and checked out the lyrics, and I was pretty much spot on.

Of course, I didn't LISTEN to it. I don't hate myself that much anymore.

It's bad, but is is really that much worse than pretty much all top 40 pop from the last 20 years?

yes b/c it's sampling a top 40 pop song that at the time it came out was immediately cringe. It's not like this was great song that Guetta just ruined with the sample. It was always embarrassing & I feel like the thought now was "oh, we'll make it cool by sampling it". No it always sucked and your version is arguably worse.

You have to give Godsmack credit for being able to rip-off Black Album-era Metallica and Alice In Chains equally and without shame.

Trying to get the taste of bile out of my mouth that came into being watching Coldplay on SNL last night. Horrible. I wonder if someone dropped Chris Martin on his head when he was a baby.

My gf is into music that I can best describe as chill folk blues sorta soul, I am able to enjoy it as well, but most of the male singers have this same style of singing that drives me up the wall. The sounds they make are not unlike those of a wounded dog, and they annunciate all their words like they have marbles in their mouths. So many in that style of music sing like that, almost like the folk version of the 90's Eddie Vedder voice. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
