    Yes, yes I know I know. Look, it's just that. I forgive you and all. It's just going to take a bit longer to forget is what it is.

    @october_midnight - credit where credit is due. Any time I see a thread has been bumped about a movie or an artist (The Cure, etc), every post is always about new exciting news and never a bump for the sake of a bump. That’s why I get excited whenever I see your username has bumped a thread I’m interested in.

    @burnmotherfucker! , I miss our lengthy, intelligent conversations.

    I sometimes wonder if you're secretly someone I know irl, or someone I used to talk to online, (as you won't even tell me your NAME, even after thousands and thousands of words exchanged, but whatever the case, Alowishus works.

    My tablet is broken, but man, message me, man. We can have palaver on the desktop.

    @botley

    You’ve helped me find some music that I really needed and was looking for. I appreciate it.

    Especially because, back in the day in the long long ago, I was a complete dick to you. I was a complete dick to a lot of people. I’d gone through something really traumatic and fucked up in my personal life, and I was venting, a lot of the time after drinking. It’s not a good look and I regret it.

    So anyway, sorry/thanks

    That's nice to hear. Life can be horrendous but music is still our friend. I was a dick to you too, back in the day, and have no excuse for it other than youthful arrogance... I'm also sorry, but I'm really glad you're still here buddy

    Keep creating good shit and putting it out there, it's obviously what you've been put here on this miserable shithole godforsaken planet to do!

    WAIT wait wait. Ok, so this is a VERY late reaction, but...whatchu know about Deep Ellum?

    I grew up kicking it there, living there, and playing shows, there, in that order.
    I lived in that loft spot where you drive up to park, right across from Mama Mia, near The Deep End (the.owner of that shop lived there, too), right down from Frazini's, close to.that one Cafe Brazil.

    Our spot was literally above Poor Bill's, who was the dude from the Harlem Globetrotters, who.had opened a Fish Fry joint. All of my piercings have SOMETHING to do with my homeboy Jeremiah, at Ace In The Hole.

    Years before that, it was nonstop Old 97s, Slobberbone, Foamy, 1100 Springs, Sorta, Calways, Funland, Dooms UK, and, ALSO like, Rasputina, Breeders, Type O Negative, Venetian Snares, Blackalicious, Squarepusher, Lemonheads, Legendary Roots Crew, Tricky, Kosheen, etc, and, of course,.Spectre 45, and, well, Itself- good.old.eleveno- as.Acolyte, as my gvmnt name, and as 1/2 of JLYI, etc...

    Did we already have this conversation?/

    Edit: where is @burnmotherfucker!

    Out here knee deep in shit watching the clown show with a grin on my face.

    Also, glad you're still alive out there. Seems like you went MIA for a hot minute. Or maybe that was the other universe, who can say?

    i did go MIA, for real. i've been through a lot, lately, and it isn't about ME, really: rather, it's been family members being (possibly) terminally ill, and, my lifelong best friend dying...but i'm back. I am, in fact, Back In Black.

    @sweeterthan

    I never formally threw a 'thank you' out there for reaching out to me a while back. I didn't really say anything specific on this board or on social media or whatever, but I was really sick and it was a hard time. I almost died, and was hospitalized twice. The last time was really bad... easily one of the most excruciating things I've been through. It sucks when your internal organs all decide to fail on you.

    Anyway, it just occurred to me that it's been almost a year since I last got out of the hospital after that close brush with death. It was an intense time, but over the past year I've rebounded and recovered from the fucked up state I was in.

    But yeah, @sweeterthan, you're awesome. I am still not sure entirely what I said on the board that raised a flag, but I'm glad you reached out to me. It really helped out to have someone to talk to... especially since, outside of my immediate close family, and a couple close friends, nobody knew what I was going through. I kept it really private, especially when I was convinced I was about to die. I also might have, uh, vented some existential frustration on this board in a pissed off way, so, yeah, sorry if I snapped at anyone or said stuff that was bleak and in bad taste.

    I feel as close to healthy as I've felt in what feels like forever, I'm productive, working on music, getting paid work again doing the stuff I like to do... I'm actually half way through tracking/recording an ambitious album, and there's no way I could have pulled that off in the state I was in. I don't want to jinx things, but outside of politics in this country being a miserable cloud that seems to hang over everything in my universe, I'm in a happy state. Coming close to dying makes you appreciate the things you have (especially when it happens twice in a row), and while it sounds like a small thing, it's good to be reminded that there's compassionate people out there in the world who really just are invested in helping others and making the world a little less shitty.

    Thanks.

    Yeah, I was in a hospital bed, pumped full of morphine, seizuring, flipping in and out of consciousness, constantly feeling like I was struggling not to throw up (and often not succeeding, especially if I tried to eat). One point, where I think they thought I was unconscious, I heard the doctor talking to someone about the possibility that I wasn't going to make it, and that even if I did, I would likely be permanently brain damaged... and there was this pain that's really hard to explain, like it just pulsed through and throbbed outward through my body, and it just wouldn't stop... on top of that, when I was coherent I was having physical anxiety/panic attacks where I'd freeze in place and feel like I was in freefall, stuck in this shitty hospital bed, not sure how long I'd been there, occasionally hallucinating...

    So, uh, yeah, as a helpful note to people... if you feel sick, and then notice that you have no appetite, and then you go five days or so at a time without eating until you finally have to force yourself to eat, you are sick and you need to go to the hospital... because if you put it off or just wait to get better, you're going to get worse from malnutrition, and then you additionally get neurologically fucked. When I was finally checking myself into the hospital, I couldn't stand... I literally was throwing my weight around and aiming for where I'd land, I'd fall over randomly if I was able to get to my feet...

    So yeah, what I went through also coincided with some really hard personal shit in my life, so it was a very rough, scary time. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

    But thank you @ickyvicky , you get a luvlisting too
