Sweet! I love Primus, but I've been waiting for what feels like forever for them to finish touring on that god-awful Wonka shit. Hoping this one's good!
Has it been that long already? Damn. Well, I just checked out 'The Seven' and am pleasantly surprised! Energetic and catchy. The mix also seems a little richer than it did on 'Naugahyde'. Color me excited!
I'm game for new Primus!
@theimage13 , nah mine was just this past Friday in NJ. I think they've played Candy Man at every show, or almost every show, this tour.
Got my tickets to the 2 NY shows
Kinda talking to myself here but what the hell, new song!
Loving everything I've heard so far, but as the album is only gonna be a short one I'm not listening to any more songs that may come out beforehand until it's out. I wanna hear the whole thing as one - it sounds like the album will have continuous flow by the sound of the end of The Scheme. It's nice to hear the 6 string bass again on a Primus track.
There was a clip of 'The Storm' on Facebook and it had that stupid dobro in it, the one thing I could do without in Primus tunes.
Only one more left to go...
Huge Primus fan (see: username), and even I'm shocked at how good this new stuff is. Waiting for Friday to listen to everything, but I've skimmed through most of the stuff and it's great. Green Naugahyde was pretty solid, but after the Wonka stuff, I wasn't sure I'd be on board for what they tried next.
Very pleasantly surprised.
I've been watching those videos. Man, I want more. This is definitely some of the most interesting stuff Primus has done in quite a while as I haven't paid attention the band for years.
I like this quite a lot. That isn't too surprising considering Les Claypool is fucking awesome, though.
Loving the new album after a few listens to it so far. Put it on a few times while hiking and it works really well together. Very Pink Floyd-y. Favorites are The Scheme and The Storm.
Just wish it was a tad longer! But I'll take a short, great album over that Wonka bullshit anyday.
In between Primus last night and tomorrow I got to meet Les at a Wine signing today. Couldn't get a picture or have him sign anything else, but pretty cool nonetheless
So I got my hands on the new album and WOW, I was blown away at how good it is. Primus has always been a back burner band for me; I enjoy their music, but I wouldn't call myself a 'fan' by any means. I saw them open for TOOL back in 2016 and was amazed at how awesome they sounded live, but again I never went out of my way to listen to them. This year however I had the chance to get my hands on their latest album and I haven't been able to stop playing it. "The Storm" has to be my favorite track so far...that bassline is AWESOME and almost has a TOOL-esq feel to it. Perhaps this is the beginning of my relationship with Primus...we'll see though...
Just got TDS a few days ago, and instantly have all kinds respect for it.
Decided to buy it last weekend and agree, new album is a decent listen.
Agreed- I hear some Tool and Rush influence at times.
It's a very solid listen. It's almost a shame it's so brief, but it works for what it is.
Been listening to this nonstop for several days. It's a damn good album. The Dream melody is hopelessly stuck in my brain. The boys over in TOOL should take note of this as well as recent nin output and be reminded of what it sounds like when folks legit move their ass on quality output.
i could be mistaken but i think Les spends time with who he tours with Geddy from Rush mention this and talking about bass playing including being in the Roll The Bones video, so the just getting off a tour with Tool it's no surprise there is some similarities there.

these new tunes are nice.
i grew up LOVING Primus and saw them 3 times in the 90s, but i just didn't really keep up after Tales From the Punchbowl. That one's still "the new one" to me, haha.
New tour with Primus and Mastodon hits the road in spring
I’m more than likely going to skip the Slayer show to see the date in Charlotte on May 19th.
Got my tickets for Coney Island this morning. Show number 13 coming up hot!
After seeing Primus at Bonnaroo back in 2010 and then again as an opener for TOOL in 2016, I NEED to see this tour. These guys are some serious performers and put on one hell of a show.
Just got tickets to this (and Elton John... yeah, varied taste lol) this morning. Really looking forward to hearing some of the new album songs!
