Just got tickets for the KC date. Will be my fifth time seeing Primus! According to Rolling Stone they will play a full set of originals, in addition to the Rush album!

Ooh, really wondering what kind of set that'll entail.
Picked a ticket up for this to relieve me of my COVID blues. Can't wait! I was secretly hoping Primus would get in on the live stream action this year.
What really interests me is those two notes from Antipop that play towards the end of the trailer. For the album Les swore off and rarely plays anything from, could it be that we finally hear some of it (beyond Dirty Drowning Man), with Herb on the kit?
Well that was a fucking SHOW. Four Antipop songs (if you count the Heckler). $15 well spent
Yeah that was a wild batch of tracks. Think this was the first time since 08 I didn't see Les live in some form or another, so this stream was a nice way to spend a Friday night.
I'm still gobsmacked they did Eclectic Electric. Of any/all of the Antipop songs I'd have hedged a bet on them bringing back that would be somewhere near the bottom just because it's a huge proggy black sheep from the record. What a glorious piece of music.
I honestly forgot it existed, its probably the most obscure thing that's actually on one of the original 6 Primus records they could've possibly played. I was beyond shocked, after Lacquer Head and Antipop I was hoping we'd get something like Final Voyage of Liquid Sky but when they started this I didn't even realize what it was at first. Excellent choice and this stream was definitely worth the money.

Superb stream! Haven't listened to Primus in a long time, but hearing Eclectic Electric live was worth it alone! And I agree, Final Voyage would have been even more mindblowing, but this set slays! Really nice cozy concert!
Really hope this ends up being a big success for them and they decide to do a few more. Holding out hope primus, or some Claypool project, does something for NYE as this will be the first time in 20-something years they don't do some kind of special event.
Definitely would have loved some Final Voyage, that is one of my favourite Primus tracks.
I wonder why Les changed his mind after all this time, even in the most recent interviews he's still talked less than fondly about Antipop. Maybe Ler talked him round this time. Going to pour a big glass of red wine and absorb this full thing tonight.
Maybe Tim finally got around to listening to it and was like, hey Les this isn't completely shit lol.
Since I totally got sucked back into Primus again during the stream and the ongoing debate about "Antipop", what's your ranking?
1. Tales from the Punchbowl
2. Sailing the Seas of Cheese
3. Frizzle Fry
4. Antipop
5. Green Naugahyde
6. Pork Soda
7. Brown Album
8. The Desaturating Seven
9. Chocolate Factory
Yet, "Animals" is way up there, but I'm not counting EPs. "Antipop" has a complicated standing I guess as it came out amidst the Nu-Metal era, yet had some pretty prominent guests and quite ambitious.

4. Seven

4. Brown
5. Cheese

That new track is DOPE.
Also, JUST noticed they'll be in my town in two weeks, and it's on a weekend too! The VIP experience is only $150 so I'm thinking of springing for it...
Really enjoyed the new track! looking forward to the other 2
The new EP absolutely bangs.
IMO Conspiranoia is the weakest cut, and probably the most Rush influenced one.
Follow The Fool is absolutely wonderful, and plays like a post-Green Naugahyde cut with Tim on drums, whereas Erin On The Side Of Caution is exactly what I'd want from Primus in 2022, absolutely wonderful new material.
The only issue I have with the EP is how much it's making me crave for more. SO good but SO short!
Honestly forgot that this bad boy came out today until I saw this thread. So glad I'm working from home and can blast this right away.
Can't wait to see them tomorrow in Madison!
man, wish it was longer. i didn't want a micro-dose, i wanted to go full-bore!
The Madison show last night was great. The guys sound super tight after practicing all that Rush stuff. Managed to get a poster as well.
thats a great print.
Hope we are getting some cool ones for the upcoming NIN run!
