Haha, yeah, no downloads for those of us that ordered direct from FP yet. In fact, I don't think they ever offered the vinyl on bandcamp, other than the new picture disc.

Still digesting but this is one solid record. The front half and back half are both really strong and have somewhat different vibes which I like. This is definitely a more concise album then Child Soldier.

    Current rating is 8.4/10

    Also...Rainbows Underground is just... <3

EDIT: Final review -- 8.4 stays. Armchair quarterbacking here...but I almost wish Absence as a Presence, Crazy All Around, and Lying At the Bottom of the Sky had been on this record. Feel like those 3 tracks really fit and would let the album stay a little longer.

Also not a big fan of the mix on 'Reality Spiral' -- in my headphones and in car it sounds very metallic/high treble especially in the left channel -- tried my iTunes version and Spotify and same thing but only issue on that one track.

After 7 months since pre-ordered, I finally got my Mirrorcell LP today in the mail. I got the Black and White Smoke variant.

Did you get a shipping notice or anything? I haven't seen anything.

I'll bet the Lowered singles are still delayed, which is probably what's holding up my copy of Mirrorcell.

Just came back from tonight's show.

Greg and co. brought it tonight, it was great to hear these solo tracks live. I did not expect the performance to be 1.5 hour long and was more surprised to see Reeba appear for "Lowered". Greg's voice definitely has not changed and aged like fine wine. I definitely hope to see him again.

    Random tidbits:
Very cool to see Billy Howerdel rocking out to the tunes.
Nothing like taking a piss with Jerry Cantrell in the next stall lol.
Love the added outro lyrics of Dillinger's "One of Us Is the Killer" at the end of Evacuation.
Evacuation slays in a live setting.
Some chatter about Dillinger and how it's been 5 years since the last show and (jokingly?) 5 more to go!

God I really REALLY hope he goes on tour next year and comes to KC. Would be even better if he does a Co-Headliner with NIN, each doing 90 minute sets back to back each night.

If you could see what they were doing together next to the stage, you wouldn't be surprised she was there...

Great show, overall. I'm not super into the heavier/noisier stuff, so there were moments I didn't enjoy quite as much, but I love the new album, so hearing those songs was especially nice. And it is really cool to go to small shows like this and Billy's show and see their peers come out to support them. Not to mention that they're happy to just stand in the crowd and not feel like they have to go hide in the VIP area.

So Greg and Reba ARE dating then? Not that it even matters or is anyone's business, but I've been wondering lately.

Considering Greg's IG stories lately, I would be surprised if they weren't.

the recording and mixing sound good, and he sounds good when he's screaming, but yeah his singing vocals are...weird?

this is also (as you and i talked about) my least-fav song from his solo stuff.

unrelated - i finally listened to mirrorcell over the weekend and FUCK was it good. honestly like it way more than child soldier; much more cohesive.

Did anyone else order the Picture Disc version of Mirrorcell from the Bandcamp page? They were supposed to ship by November 30, and I can't get any updates out of them. I emailed via the order page and got a reply from the Federal Prisoner shop saying I needed to contact Bandcamp since the order was through them. That is wrong since Bandcamp doesn't fulfill merchandise orders, it's the artists or their representatives. I'm sure it's delayed, but it's more frustrating that I can't get any answer from them other than trying to pass me back to Bandcamp which isn't helpful at all.

The Black Queen's Instagram posted a new photo today with Greg, Steve and Justin. Definitely seems like Josh is no longer associated with the band, which bums me out.

That's true. But at least it looks like the band is still active at all and that's a good thing!

Josh being out doesn't surprise me honestly. I remember him saying last year on Twitter or Instagram that Telefon Tel Aviv won't be performing live for a long time, so even if he kept on the band he wouldn't be touring with them, he always seemed to enjoy more being on the studio than on the stage.

I'm glad TBQ still a thing specially with Justin now being a official member since I love Polyfuse. Was afraid Josh being out + Puciato's solo career would quietly end the band.

great bill but right in the middle of basically every band on the planet touring as well. If i went to the NYC show I'd be going to three shows three days in a row. Brutal. Sucks b/c I wanna see Escuela Grind too.
