Saw Jack White at Coachella, they were phenomenal. Probably the best set of the weekend for me.
The final acoustic show is being live streamed via Tidal & the Vault in 10 minutes. Afterwords it'll be archived on both sites to be watched any time.
Yeah I made the mans Grill Cheese sandwich tonight.
Kind of depressing Q&A answers from Jack.
tl;dr version:
Any future full-blown tours? It's "not worth it...only seated theater acoustic shows for the rest of my days."
Meg White? "She doesn't answer her phone...that time is gone."
What if they're inducted in to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame? "Doubt it...and doubt it."
What is something most may not know about you? "...that I don't belong here and most of the time it's torture trying to find reasons to stay.'
wtf?
New Dead Weather album 'Dodge & Burn' drops in September. Article.
So terrible that they're not touring this album at all...they're on fire.
Oh gods Alison is so brilliant in that video. Glad to see she's still got that intense & ferocious stage presence, she's mellowed a bit when she plays with the Kills. It really is a fucking shame that they're not touring this record.
I was surprised and delighted to see them on The Late Show last night.
Dodge and Burn is streaming in full on the Vault and through Tidal right now.
I'm digging the hell out of the new album. The Dead Weather are by far my favorite Jack White outfit not called The White Stripes.
Apologize if this was discussed already. I can't enter the Beyonce thread again without wanting to put my head through my laptop. Cannot stand her at all.
Now that I've heard it, it seems pretty obvious that the Beyonce/Jack White song nominated for a Grammy was a leftover/re-work of something for Alissa Mosshart & The Dead Weather. They put in some embarrassingly dumb lyrics instead, but it has that Dead Weather sound & Mosshart/White's vocal style:
New album "Boarding House Reach" officially announced.
These new tracks are definitely..... something.

I am not too excited about the new music, but its Jack White, I'll take what I can get. I am looking forward to hopefully catching him at Boston Calling (if QOTSA are on the same day that would be amazing). I was at 'that show' at Radio City Music Hall years ago and I know he is better than he performed that night, so hoping for some redemption.
Digging the new tracks, although the video for Connected By Love is a bit too on-the-nose for my taste.
I am finding Connected By Love to be really depressing for reasons I cannot explain; and therefore am starting to love it.

I think Meg White, Art Garfunkel and Andrew Ridgeley should form a band together.

New songs don’t do anything for me. For me, he’s gotten worse with every solo release. I just don’t think he has it anymore.
Hey cool the new songs blow. Great!
I personally have been waiting for almost a decade now for him to reform the Raconteurs. Both they & The Dead Weather are his best output imo.
Sigh...hoping the whole album isn't like this.
