The Force Awakens -- no particular issues with the vfx. Kind of a blend of Empire and Return Of The Jedi in terms of tones I think... I like it well enough.

The Last Jedi -- definitely some vfx asset integration issues and the story was all over the place... but was still better dialogue than Attack Of The Clones. Not sure why they Fin a slapstick character (at least for the first 3/4 of the movie). Did I enjoy it? mmm... yeah.
The Rise Of Skywalker -- much better vfx again... and surprising me as much as anyone, I just got The Feels, but in a good way, at the end when Rey adopted the Skywalker name. I'm in for whatever comes next. And it was nice that Luke finally got his X-Wing out of some water. :P
And here's my silly thread of screen-grabs I grabbed while watching... just click to see the whole thing
From Confused Matthew. Pretty brutal takedown of TROS:
This is hilarious, once again Hamill killing it at Twitter:

Do I need to watch Clone Wars before taking a look at the Bad Batch? Sure I won't understand everything if I don't, just asking as I'm looking for some light and short action to watch after work.
Finally got copies of 4K77 and 4K83.
Until Disney releases the originals, I don't see the need to watch any other versions. Especially Jedi, even scenes in the new versions that don't SEEM like they have been changed, have still been molested by computers to the point where they come across as disjointed fan edits. This actually feels like I'm watching a real film.
Those are the definitive versions for me
As far as I know the 4k77 and 4k83 versions are scanned from old 33mm prints of the movies. So it isn't like Harmy's, where he's gone through and removed all the special edition BS. They are direct scans of the original films, so the special edition BS was never there in the first place. Like lucas intended.
Star Wars Visions are really REALLY good! Probably the weakest for me were Tatooine Rhapody and TO-B1 but some absolutely outstanding work on The Twins, The Village Bride, The Ninth Jedi and Lop and Ocho, all of which i'd happy see expended in some shape or form!
So they just released all of these at the same time? no weekly build-up?
also I did not know they were ready to be shown, thought it was a next year release. might watch after What If tonight.
That is my understanding as well. I think 4k80 is supposed to drop before the end of the year. We'll see.
I was just looking around online and found yet another way to watch the OT. d+77, d+80, and otd83 are fan edits that use the new 4k blu rays as well as the 4k film scans from 4k77-83 to get them as close to theatrical as possible. So kinda an updated version of what Harmy's did but with all of it sourced from 4k.
I haven't watched them but seems interesting. When all of this is over someone with more time than me needs to tell me which versions are the best.
Strangely, I really enjoyed the grindhouse editions I watched a year ago, that was a lot of fun.
I was actually pretty fucking HAPPY when the updated OT was released in theaters in the late 90s. I saw each of them at least a dozen times, and I honestly enjoyed some of the changes: Cloud City, for instance, or the noise when the storm trooper hits his head, or the replacement of the cardboard people, for instance.
Has there been scans of the film reels made (ala 4K77 or 4K83) for the prequel films?
I want to get my original color grading/nightmare fuel ep 1 Yoda puppet on without having to resort to ripping my original DVDs.
would love that 4K05 in my collection

There are public invite codes that have been around several years now (since the jump to 4K), one of them is: OT-21wceCpKFdYgD1FgHEkjSw4K77-80
@Jon thanks as always for coming through
I've got a bit of a hot take, and I wonder what you guys think.
We just rewatched Rogue One, ann now, I think it's my favorite Star Wars flick since the OT.
The story and visuals are compelling and fresh. And, call me a heretic, but it's probably got the best actual space fighting of the bunch

I also loved Rogue One and I agree that it has the best space battles of the Disney era and one of the best Vader scenes. BUT, if we're being honest with ourselves, it is also absolutely loaded with "member berries," too (most of which I'm fine with, but there are a few moments where it feels like fan service). The Red Letter Media guys had a valid point when they called it Star Wars porn. Then again, if you love Star Wars, then Star Wars porn sounds pretty damn good, doesn't it?

I mean it's Star Wars. If there's not at least a few member berries then who even wants to watch it? But I also think there's an argument to be made that it relies on those the LEAST out of all the films since the OT. I mean the main characters are all fresh and have their own stories and goals. There's no Jedis in the main plot. R2 and 3po aren't the comic relief throughout the entire film. No Han, no Chewy. A quick flash of Vader and Leia at the end, sure, but the story relies mainly on Jyn and Cassian in the end and it works because of their story alone. You could take out the member berries and it would still work as a film. Are there ANY other SW films you could say that about? I doubt it.
And I love Red Letter Media but those guys shit on almost everything, it's what they do best and it's why I watch them. I just try and take expectation and intention into a movie like this. It's Star Wars, I don't expect 2001:A Space Odyssey quality, I just hope it isn't bad. And WOW, the new sequel trilogy was BAD!
Also, since we're talking Rogue One. I haven't bothered with Andor yet, is anyone liking that? I was thinking about getting Disney for $1.99 for a month before that deal ends in a couple days to watch that Beatles doc but if I get it I may as well check out Andor as well I suppose.
Rogue One is top 5 for me, and had some of the more compelling characters, with lots of charm. The "Hey, rememeber this?" was not nearly as bad as The Force Awakens. ANOTHER "Death Star?" I really could not believe they went that route again when I saw it in the theater.
Star Wars porn, yes, absolutely: that's precisely why 7 is my number two. Sorry, @burnmotherfucker! , for the invalid answer.
TBH, I didn't even SEE RoTS in the theater, even though I was That (sexy) Guy With Star Wars Shirts in the class of 98.
But I was talking about this with DWI Sheap, aka Mrs DWI Eleven, and we BOTH think there's a good chance that it'd still have been great WITHOUT the hardcore member berries.
I think that one is hope for the future.
Knights of the Old Republic is a good example. It's a video game I played on Android, set like 4000 years before the prequels, I think.
It was SO immersive and incredible, but featured ZERO Leia or Vader or anything like that.
It just looked and felt like Star Wars. As long as it's WELL WRITTEN, acted and directed, that might just be enough.
