The Knife is Olof Dreijer (Oni Aynun, DJ Coolof) and Karin Dreijer Andersson (Honey Is Cool, Fever Ray). They are based in Stockholm, Sweden and have made music together since 1999, released on their own label Rabid Records.

i'm not a devoted fan of all of their material, but they've got some pretty undeniable tracks. 'heartbeats' fills my heart with joy and 'girl's night out' has that kind of tension i'm usually looking for in my synth music.
Can't wait for the supposed new album that they're apparently working on....remember reading something about them releasing it in 2012?
Yep, it's on their blog. "The Knife is now recording a new album to be released in 2012." That was posted back in April.
We have literally nothing to go on at this point except an official announcement, but that's enough for me. I imagine they'll be pretty secretive about it right up until its release. I don't know what to expect, but I think it will be different than Silent Shout.
I traveled to Stockholm to see Tomorrow, In A Year. I hope the new album isn't like it.
not a fan - went on too long - I look forward to a new Knife album, and maybe another Fever Ray down the line
I actually really like that. Sounds like Fever Ray while sounding separate at the same time. Now I just want more Fever Ray.
She's such a tease.
Is it weird that I prefer the Fever Ray album to The Knife? I just connected with it much more for some reason.
Not weird, it just means you prefer Karin alone over Karin and Olof. And she is quite the beast.
I downloaded Tomorrow, In A Year and I'm finally going to give it an honest try, if only because there's still nothing solid on when the new Knife album will be released.

Ooh pretty.
I've been listening to Deep Cuts a lot lately and it's really good, better than I used to think. The only thing that hinders it from being great is the genre-hopping - Silent Shout had a great consistent vibe and Deep Cuts is scattered by comparison.
Cool. The knife retweeted you.

I havent seen this news anywhere else, but it seems legit. Bullet has done press stuff for both Planningtorock and iamamiwhoami so The Knife would be right up their alley.
bullettmedia:
BULLETT’s been told that the highly anticipated album from The Knife is projected to come out this September! And that the duo are collaborating on a track with a certain buzz band. It’s been 6 years and it sounds like it’ll be worth the wait!
Official site updated!
New album 'Shaking The Habitual' spring 2013. Fuckin' pumped.

Getting some serious Oni Ayhun vibes from that video. So very excited for this
Could not possibly be more excited for this. It's what I was waiting for all year... But I will wait as long as it takes! Spring doesn't seem so far now.

Recently plunged on "Silent Shout" on 12" after many years of it on my wishlist. Spun it last weekend - timeless.
As much as I like The Knife, I'm hoping this means we're just around the corner from a new Fever Ray album...
I read a review that suggested fever ray's debut was the product of post natal insomnia. Not sure if true but i couldn't get the idea out of my head on relistening and it fits. We might have to wait until Karen has another child...
post natal insomnia/depression was a big influence on the fever ray album
Karin has said that if another solo project were to be released it probably wouldnt be fever ray because it was its own thing and that a new project would be under a different name.
also, you can preview the new single here http://www.amazon.com/Full-of-Fire/d...e+full+of+fire
'Full of Fire' drops next week!
Looks like the preview was taken down...
